More Information

Overview Manuals Threshold Roles Dropout Logic Zero-speed Path Monitor Range

Features:

  • Combines analog speed levels with a direct magnetic-pickup path.
  • Generates minimum, acceleration, operating and zero-speed logic.
  • Offers three jumper-selected ranges for the NMR monitor channel.
IC3600SVSE1 concentrates several speed decisions on one card without giving every channel the same hysteresis behavior.

The direct pickup path lets IC3600SVSE1 derive 14HR independently of the NHP-based minimum, acceleration and operating thresholds.

NMR on IC3600SVSE1 extends the discrete speed logic with a selectable 0–10 V monitor comparison.

The General Electric IC3600SVSE1 Speed Sensor Card may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Threshold Roles

  • Minimum speed: 14HM on IC3600SVSE1 responds to the NHP signal.
  • Acceleration speed: 14HA provides a separate acceleration threshold.
  • Operating speed: 14HS supplies the operating-speed decision with independent pickup and dropout settings.

Dropout Logic

  • 14HM: IC3600SVSE1 fixes dropout at 90% of the selected pickup point.
  • 14HA: Dropout occurs at 75% of its pickup setting.
  • 14HS: R209 and R201 define the operating and underspeed dropout paths selected by UFD.

Zero-speed Path

  • Source: 14HR receives magnetic-pickup frequency directly.
  • Conversion: IC3600SVSE1 converts the pickup frequency to an analog level.
  • Decision: Zero-speed logic asserts while that level remains below the fixed reference.

Monitor Range

  • Input: NMR compares a 0–10 V speed signal with its preset level.
  • Selection: RA/RB, RC/RB or RD/RB chooses one of three percentage spans.
  • Ranges: IC3600SVSE1 supports 20–60%, 50–90% and 80–110% monitor ranges.
Description
In the Mark II Speedtronic turbine control system, General Electric IC3600SVSE1 serves as the speed sensor card. It accepts NHP and NLP analog speed signals together with magnetic-pickup frequency and develops discrete logic states at defined points in the turbine speed cycle.

Five sensing functions are organized on IC3600SVSE1: 14HM for minimum speed, 14HA for acceleration speed, 14HS for operating speed, 14HR for zero speed and NMR for an adjustable monitor level. The 14HM, 14HA and 14HS functions share NHP, while 14HR is driven directly from the magnetic pickup.

Pickup and dropout behavior is not identical across IC3600SVSE1. The 14HM dropout is fixed at 90% of its pickup point, the 14HA dropout is 75% of pickup, and 14HS provides separate pickup and dropout adjustments with UFD selecting the underspeed dropout path.

For the analog monitor function, IC3600SVSE1 accepts a 0–10 V speed signal and compares it with a preset level. Jumper positions select NMR ranges of 20–60%, 50–90% or 80–110%, while the 14HR path asserts its zero-speed logic when the pickup-derived analog level is below its fixed reference.

Technical notes
General Electric IC3600SVSE1 develops 14HM, 14HA, 14HS, 14HR and NMR states from analog and pickup-derived speed signals.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
The NHP-based thresholds look normal, but IC3600SVSE1 will not indicate zero speed correctly. Which input path is separate?
14HR on IC3600SVSE1 comes directly from magnetic-pickup frequency, so its pickup wiring and conversion path must be checked independently of NHP.
Acceleration has ended, yet 14HA on IC3600SVSE1 stays asserted much farther into deceleration than expected. What causes the wide gap?
IC3600SVSE1 fixes 14HA dropout at 75% of its pickup setting, producing more hysteresis than a channel whose dropout is closer to pickup.
NMR on IC3600SVSE1 never reaches the desired operating band even though the 0–10 V signal is valid. What selection is most likely wrong?
The RA/RB, RC/RB or RD/RB jumper on IC3600SVSE1 selects the 20–60%, 50–90% or 80–110% NMR range, so the installed span must match the target.
The 14HS pickup point is correct, but its release point is not. Which IC3600SVSE1 controls affect only the dropout side?
R209 sets normal 14HS dropout on IC3600SVSE1, while R201 and UFD define the underspeed dropout path; R202 remains the pickup adjustment.
Minimum-speed behavior changes when logic 4 changes state on IC3600SVSE1. Why should R205 not be adjusted immediately?
Logic 4 selects the documented 14HM pickup condition on IC3600SVSE1, so the active logic state must be confirmed before changing the R205 threshold.
