Features:
- Interface Between the Exciter Control System and Field Contact Devices
- Combines Capability of Contact Input/Output Processing with Redundant Control Support
- Operates in Conjunction with the M1/M2/C Controllers and Standard EX2100e Modules
The IS200ECGIH1A operates as the Exciter Contact Terminal Board in an EX2100e rack, providing reliable contact I/O interface to all modules within the system. It continuously processes incoming contact signals (24 VDC control voltage, 70 VDC wetting voltage) and distributes these signals through the EBKP backplane to support steady state operation of all exciter control modules and monitors. Seamless signal transfer is standard with the IS200ECGIH1A, however using the IS200ECGIH1APR2 revision will allow enhanced circuit optimization and improved component reliability in critical industrial environments. The IS200ECGIH1APR2 has made improvements in several areas over previous ECTB board designs in addition to incorporating enhanced diagnostic capability within the EX2100e rack.
The IS200ECGIH1A provides essential contact interface functions common to the entire exciter control system, and is a critical component of the control path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall excitation system. One IS200ECGIH1A or IS200ECGIH1APR2 board is required per rack depending on the desired configuration level. The IS200ECGIH1A occupies a single full-height slot in the rack and is always located in the designated ECTB position (connected via EBKP backplane to EMIO modules).
For Triple Redundant Control applications, the EX2100e System requires the IS200ECGIH1A or IS200ECGIH1APR2 to interface with three EMIO boards (M1, M2, C controllers). In addition to standard single board operation, the redundant configuration also performs automatic 2-out-of-3 voting. The EX2100e triple controller configuration executes signal processing using the internal circuitry specified in the ECTB board options. Using this method, the redundant control system continually monitors the health of all three controllers. If the system detects that the primary controller is no longer providing stable output (outside configured tolerance levels), it will automatically transfer the control logic to the secondary controllers and place an event in the System Event List.
The IS200ECGIH1A and IS200ECGIH1APR2 GE Exciter Contact Terminal Boards may still be available for purchase and support from authorized distributors beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
