More Information

Overview Manuals Communication Diagnostics Configuration Application
  • Operates as the VME bus master and controller-to-I/O communication interface in a Mark VI rack.
  • Uses the H2 arrangement with three 10Base2 IONet BNC ports for network communication.
  • The supplied assembly photographs retain both IS200VCMIH2BCD and IS215VCMIH2BC identifiers.

IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC is a General Electric mark vi vcmi communication interface board assembly designed for its documented industrial platform or application.

The supplied board photographs show IS200VCMIH2BCD and IS215VCMIH2BC on the same GE VCMI H2 assembly. GEH-6421M documents the H2 VCMI as a VME bus-master and Mark VI IONet communication interface with three 10Base2 ports.

Before installation or replacement, verify the complete catalog number, compatible hardware, wiring, configuration and installed-system requirements.

Availability, condition, price, and shipping time for IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC are confirmed during quotation.

  • Provides three 10Base2 IONet BNC ports at 10 Mbit/s in the H2 version.
  • Provides one RS-232C D-style serial connector fixed at 9600 bit/s.
  • Supports VME bus block transfers between the controller, VCMI and I/O boards.
  • Monitors IONet communication and reports individual IONet 1, 2 and 3 communication failures.
  • Detects VME bus errors, board-ID mismatches and terminal-board compatibility faults.
  • Checks SRAM and flash conditions and accepts power-distribution diagnostic inputs through the backplane.
  • Acts as VME bus master in control and I/O racks and manages installed board identifiers.
  • Supports simplex systems with local or remote I/O racks, each using its own VCMI.
  • Supports TMR R, S and T channels with one IONet per channel through the three H2 ports.
  • Mark VI control-rack communication between the controller and VME I/O boards
  • Mark VI local or remote I/O racks requiring a VCMI bus master
  • Mark VI TMR R, S and T IONet communication using the three-port H2 arrangement
Description
IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC monitors its internal 5 V, 12 V, 15 V and 28 V supply buses and receives Power Distribution Module diagnostic signals through the J301 backplane connection.

Front-panel indicators distinguish operating and fault conditions: RUN flashes green during normal operation, FAIL remains solid red when the board is not operating, and STATUS turns orange when a diagnostic alarm is queued. Detailed VCMI alarms can then be reviewed through the Mark VI Toolbox.

Replacement requires the complete board and assembly identifiers, rack slot, IONet cabling, topology file, firmware and Toolbox configuration to remain matched. Loss of the VCMI channel stops IONet data transfer and drives the affected channel outputs to their configured fail-safe state.

Technical notes
IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC must retain both identifiers and verify the target Mark VI rack, IONet topology, connectors and configuration; GEH-6421M does not establish BCD/BC interchangeability for safe service replacement.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Why must both identifiers be retained when purchasing IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC?
They identify the offered board/assembly combination; keeping both prevents a quotation or receiving check from collapsing the item to an unverified VCMI family member.
How should rack compatibility be checked for IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC?
Match both identifiers, H2 revision, connector arrangement and installed Mark VI rack records; the reviewed GE platform document does not prove compatibility for this complete combination.
Can another VCMI hardware revision replace IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC?
No cross-revision substitution is supported by the reviewed official evidence. GE-qualified engineering review is required before changing H-level or trailing revision letters.
What should be included with IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC?
Confirm the quotation and photographs show the exact assembled board, any daughterboard and installed hardware; do not assume cables, terminal hardware or software are included.
Which records should be preserved before removing IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC?
Preserve the exact nameplates, slot location, connector positions, cable labels and controller diagnostics because the available platform document does not define this complete assembly's configuration.
What installation risk is most important for IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC?
Electrostatic damage and revision mismatch are the primary documented-context risks; use ESD controls and compare both identifiers before seating the assembly.
How should a communication fault involving IS200VCMIH2BCD IS215VCMIH2BC be investigated?
Compare board indications, controller diagnostics, network connections and the known-good rack configuration, then escalate to GE-qualified support because exact-model diagnostic documentation was not found.
