The IS200TBTCH1BBB is a Thermocouple Terminal Board manufactured by General Electric (GE), specifically designed for the Mark VI Series and widely used in GE Speedtronic Turbine Control Systems. This terminal board can accommodate up to 24 thermocouple input types, including E, J, K, S, and T, and can also support B, N, and R types when used in conjunction with the PTCCH2, providing flexibility and compatibility for various temperature measurement requirements.
The IS200TBTCH1BBB connects inputs to two barrier-type terminal blocks and communicates with the I/O processor via DC-type connectors. Different models are applied based on system configuration: the TBTCH1C is suitable for simplex systems and comes with two DC-type connectors, while the TBTCH1B is designed for TMR systems and comes with six DC-type connectors. In Mark VI systems, the IS200TBTCH1BBB works with the VTCC processor, supporting both simplex and TMR configurations. The simplex system connects to VTCC via two cables, whereas the TMR system connects through three VTCC boards and six cables.
For installation, thermocouple wires are directly connected to the two I/O terminal blocks, which are removable and mounted on the terminal board using two screws. Each terminal block provides 24 terminals and supports a maximum of #12 AWG wire. The shielded terminal strip is connected to the chassis ground. In Mark VI systems, the TBTC J-type connector transmits signals to the I/O processor (VME rack). The IS200TBTCH1BBB supports both grounded and ungrounded thermocouple inputs, with a signal extension distance of up to 300 m (984 ft) and a maximum two-wire resistance of 450 Ω. It also provides high-frequency noise suppression and two CJ reference devices to ensure measurement accuracy.
In operation, the I/O processor handles analog-to-digital conversion and linearization. The simplex system (TBTCH1C) uses a single VTCC, while the simplex system in Mark VIe uses two PTCC packs inserted into the TBTC to obtain 24 inputs. The TMR system (TBTCH1B) outputs signals to three J-type connectors. Mark VI systems can accommodate 24 thermocouple inputs, while Mark VIe systems can accommodate 12 inputs, supporting all thermocouple ranges. This ensures that the IS200TBTCH1BBB provides stable and reliable temperature measurement and signal processing across different system configurations.
