Features:
- Interface Between the Industrial Network and RX3i Rack Backplane
- Combines Capability of High-Speed Communication with Redundant Controller Support
- Operates in Conjunction with the RX3i I/O Modules and PACSystems™ Controllers
The IC695CPK330-ACAS operates as the CPE330 Controller with Energy Pack in a PACSystems™ RX3i rack, providing reliable processing and control capabilities to all modules within the system. It continuously executes control logic and manages real-time data exchange across the backplane to support steady state operation of all I/O modules and communication interfaces. Seamless controller operation is standard with the IC695CPK330-ACAS, however using an optional High Availability Configuration will allow seamless switchover to a backup controller in the event of a primary controller failure. The IC695CPK330-ACAS has made improvements in several areas over previous controller designs in addition to incorporating Industrial Internet-ready capability within the RX3i rack.
The IC695CPK330-ACAS provides essential control functions common to the entire rack, and is a critical component of the control path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall automation system. One or two IC695CPK330-ACAS controllers are required per rack depending on the desired redundancy level. The IC695CPK330-ACAS occupies controller slots in the rack and is positioned according to system architecture requirements.
For Dual Redundant Controller applications, the RX3i System requires a second IC695CPK330-ACAS controller module installed in the redundant slot. In addition to standard single controller operation, the redundant configuration also performs automatic switchover. The RX3i dual controller configuration executes failover using the internal circuitry specified in the controller options. Using this method, the redundant controller system continually monitors the health of both controllers. If the system detects that the primary IC695CPK330-ACAS is no longer providing stable control (outside configured performance/tolerance levels), it will automatically transfer control to the secondary IC695CPK330-ACAS and place an event in the System Event List.
The IC695CPK330-ACAS GE PACSystems™ RX3i CPE330 Controller may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
