More Information

Overview Manuals Output Design Fault Protection Indicators Field Wiring

Features:

  • Controls thirty-two positive-logic DC loads in two isolated groups.
  • Protects every output against short circuit, overcurrent, and overtemperature.
  • Reports point, field-power, terminal-block, and configuration faults to the controller.
IC694MDL754 is hot-swap compatible in a PACSystems RX3i rack, allowing qualified replacement procedures without removing backplane power.

An isolated external supply can preserve field-to-I/O separation because the module does not create isolation between its field power input and output points.

At 24 VDC the module requires no output derating; at 30 VDC, the number of energized outputs is reduced above 42 °C according to the thermal curve.

General Electric IC694MDL754 PACSystems RX3i 32-Point Positive-Logic DC Output Module is available for quotation and official General Electric technical-file access.

IC694MDL754 Output Architecture

  • Channel count: Thirty-two sourcing outputs occupy one rack position.
  • Group one: Outputs 1 through 16 share the first isolated common.
  • Group two: Outputs 17 through 32 share the second isolated common.
  • Load switching: Each point switches the positive side of its connected DC load.

IC694MDL754 Electronic Protection

  • Self-recovery: A protected driver returns to its prior state after the fault is removed.
  • Voltage clamp: Transient voltage is limited to 40 VDC or below.
  • Reverse supply: Field-power inputs include reverse-voltage protection.
  • Fault reporting: Each affected point generates an individual diagnostic condition.

IC694MDL754 Status Indicators

  • Point green: The corresponding output is energized.
  • Point yellow: The corresponding output driver has a fault.
  • Group indicator: Color identifies field-power or group-fault status.
  • Terminal block: The indicator shows locked, unlocked, or module-fault conditions.

IC694MDL754 Wiring Arrangement

  • Supply range: Connect a 12 to 30 VDC external field source.
  • Group commons: Wire each bank of sixteen to its assigned common terminals.
  • Load polarity: Connect loads for positive-logic sourcing operation.
  • Terminal seating: Lock the removable terminal block before commissioning.
Description
General Electric IC694MDL754 is a PACSystems RX3i positive-logic output module with thirty-two discrete points arranged as two isolated groups of sixteen. Each group has its own common and switches the positive side of the field supply to connected loads.

Each output on IC694MDL754 works with nominal 12 or 24 VDC field power within the published operating tolerance and can source up to 0.75 A per point. Compatible loads receive current from the user-supplied field circuit.

Electronic overcurrent and short-circuit protection in IC694MDL754 isolates an affected point and reports an individual fault to the RX3i controller. The module also reports driver faults, field-power loss, terminal-block status, and DIP-switch configuration mismatch.

The two output groups in IC694MDL754 may drive different loads and can use different field voltages, allowing one sixteen-point bank to operate from 24 VDC while the other uses 12 VDC.

A rear DIP switch on IC694MDL754 selects Force Off or Hold Last State as the default output mode. The module supports insertion and removal from an RX3i universal backplane under power and accepts firmware updates through the WinLoader utility.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Why does IC694MDL754 report invalid ESCP status data?
Configure sixteen bits of module status for IC694MDL754. A zero-bit assignment does not return valid electronic-protection status information.
What should be checked when one IC694MDL754 output turns yellow?
A yellow IC694MDL754 point indicator signals a fault. Remove the overload, short circuit, or overtemperature condition, then confirm that the protected output recovers.
Why do sixteen IC694MDL754 outputs lose field power together?
Check the IC694MDL754 external supply, fuse, common, terminal wiring, and group power indicator for the affected isolated bank of sixteen outputs.
How can IC694MDL754 outputs be forced off after communications fail?
Set the IC694MDL754 rear Outputs Default switch to Force Off while the module is removed and de-energized, then reinstall it and verify the intended fail-state.
Can IC694MDL754 hold outputs after controller communications are lost?
Yes. Select Hold Last State on IC694MDL754 and confirm that the machine risk assessment permits retained output states.
Why does the IC694MDL754 terminal-block indicator show red or blink?
On IC694MDL754, red means the terminal block is not locked, while blinking indicates a non-recoverable module fault requiring diagnostic review.
Can IC694MDL754 drive a load with high startup current?
IC694MDL754 can supply a 3 A inrush pulse for 10 ms without an ESCP trip, but steady load current must remain within point and thermal limits.
