Features:
- Eight safety-related relay outputs
- Two 100Base-TX safeethernet ports
- 24 VDC IP20 remote I/O enclosure
F2 DO 8 01 moves eight relay switching functions closer to field loads while remaining linked to the HIMatrix safety application.
Dual network ports support the approved safeethernet topology, and channel diagnostics help verify the commanded safe state.
Contact load, suppression, external protection, wiring separation, network timing, and cabinet temperature are checked before energization.
Quotation assistance and official HIMA documentation for the HIMA F2 DO 8 01 HIMatrix Remote Relay Output Module are available from Apter Power.

Eight safety-related relay outputs
- Channel count: F2 DO 8 01 provides eight independently addressed relay-output channels.
- Switching level: The documented relays can switch field circuits with contact potential up to 230 V within the permitted current and load category.
- Safe response: Output behavior follows the de-energize-to-trip or energize-to-trip strategy configured for the safety function.
- Load protection: Each circuit is coordinated with external fusing and suppression suitable for the connected AC or DC device.
- Channel assignment: The SILworX project links every relay to its field load, safe state, diagnostics, and proof-test step.
Dual-port SafeEthernet connection
- Ethernet ports: Two 100Base-TX interfaces connect the remote output block to the approved HIMatrix network.
- Safety protocol: SafeEthernet transports safety-related output commands and status between the controller and F2 DO 8 01.
- Network path: Switching and cabling are arranged so the remote block remains within the validated topology and fault-reaction time.
- Addressing: System ID, IP settings, and peer assignments must match the downloaded safety project.
- Timing budget: Communication cycle and watchdog parameters are checked against the required response time of the final elements.
Mounting and connecting the relay block
- Control supply: The electronics use the documented 24 VDC supply and must be protected by the cabinet power design.
- Enclosure: IP20 construction requires installation inside an enclosure that provides the necessary environmental and access protection.
- Cable separation: Relay load wiring is routed separately from Ethernet and low-level control circuits where the cabinet rules require it.
- Grounding: Protective bonding, reference conductors, and shield treatment follow the HIMatrix installation instructions.
- Commissioning: Every relay path is tested from the safety application through the contact and connected final device before release to service.
Remote safety loads served by F2 DO 8 01
- Shutdown valves: Relay channels operate solenoids or interposing circuits that move process valves to the defined safe position.
- Motor isolation: Contactors and motor starters can be tripped when the external switching circuit stays within the relay rating.
- Burner equipment: Burner-management projects use the block for fuel shutoff, ignition permissive, and protective trip circuits.
- Alarm devices: Audible and visual warning circuits can be switched from a remote HIMatrix node close to the protected equipment.
- Machine actuators: Safety-related machine projects use the outputs for brakes, contactors, and other discrete final elements.
