Features:
- Adds a PROFIBUS-DP slave to compatible racks that do not require a slot-one CPU.
- Supports LogicMaster-based installations such as racks using the IC693CPU313.
- Responds to cyclic master requests without independently taking control of the bus.
The HE693PBS106 LogicMaster implementation extends PROFIBUS connectivity to Series 90-30 arrangements that do not support Cimplicity Control or do not need a slot-one processor.
As a slave device, the module acknowledges messages and supplies data only when requested; all connected slaves retain equal priority under control of the master.
Use requires the applicable GE Fanuc Series 90 or CEGELEC Series 8000 programming and configuration environment so the rack map and network project describe the same data exchange.
Apter Power can provide quotation assistance and official Horner documentation access for the Horner APG HE693PBS106 PROFIBUS-DP Slave Module used in legacy PLC installations.

Local-Rack Use of HE693PBS106
- Slot placement: The module occupies an available local Series 90-30 or Alspa 8000 position rather than an external remote base.
- Controller support: LogicMaster operation accommodates racks that neither use Cimplicity Control nor depend on a slot-one CPU.
- Module identity: The PLC project represents the card as foreign module ID 3 so the backplane reserves the correct data area.
- Project alignment: Rack configuration and PROFIBUS master mapping are completed as one coordinated interface definition.
Cyclic Word Exchange through HE693PBS106
- Input allocation: The PLC receives a selectable block of one through sixteen words from the network side.
- Output allocation: A separately selected one-through-sixteen-word block carries controller data toward the master exchange.
- Status addition: One extra PLC input word reports communication and firmware state outside the process-data count.
- Length agreement: Both projects use identical word totals to prevent the module's coded map-mismatch fault.
Interpreting HE693PBS106 Operating States
- Power state: The POWER indicator distinguishes an unpowered card from one that has reached its internal supply condition.
- Configuration state: OK and RUN colors separate valid PLC configuration from a module still waiting for usable parameters.
- Data exchange: A fully green indication identifies the condition in which configuration is valid and PROFIBUS-DP communication is active.
- Pulse diagnosis: Repeating green counts distinguish initialization failure from an I/O-length mismatch.
HE693PBS106 Connector Roles
- DP connection: The nine-pin PROFIBUS connector carries the fieldbus link between the slave and master network.
- Service access: A separate nine-pin RS-232 connector supports firmware-specific maintenance of the slave card.
- Port separation: Process data remains on the DP interface and is not routed through the service connector.
- Network hardware: PROFIBUS cable, connectors, shielding, and termination follow the topology required at the installed node.
