Features:
- HE800DQM406 provides 32 sourcing DC outputs.
- Each output switches loads at up to 0.5 A.
- Two commons separate the output groups.
Horner HE800DQM406 is the higher-density DQM configuration, with 32 points arranged across two commons.
The dual-group layout can separate machine sections or field-supply groups without requiring a second output module.
Channel assignments should follow the selected common structure when the control program and I/O map are prepared.
The Horner HE800DQM406 SmartStack Digital Output Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Two Commons: The 32 outputs are divided across two power commons instead of relying on one shared field connection. This allows two load groups to be organized independently within the same SmartStack position.
- Shared Symptoms: When several channels in the same group stop together, their common and field supply are shared causes to check. Channels in the other group can help show whether the issue is local to one common.
- Panel Organization: Two electrical groups can keep different machine sections or load supplies separated without installing a second output module. The program I/O map should follow the same grouping used in the wiring.
- Sourcing Path: The positive-logic transistor stage sends current from the field supply to the load, while the 10 kohm pull-down establishes the off-state reference. Connected devices must accept this sourcing arrangement.
- Switching Speed: Both turn-on and turn-off are specified at 1 ms. That response is appropriate for ordinary solenoid, relay, and indicator control, but it is not a substitute for a high-speed pulse output.
- Current Profile: A channel may see up to 650 mA during inrush while its maximum continuous load is 0.5 A. Devices with a large startup surge should be evaluated against both limits.
- Protected Outputs: Electronic short-circuit protection helps protect the output stage from wiring or load faults. It does not remove the need to correct the short and confirm the external circuit before re-energizing.
- Group Supply Check: The two-common design gives troubleshooting a natural boundary. Measuring the affected common can distinguish a group supply problem from an individual channel or load problem.
- Terminal Access: A removable spring-clamp block permits the connector to be detached as a unit. This reduces unnecessary disturbance to 32 field conductors when the electronics module needs service.
- High Point Count: Thirty-two channels allow a larger set of valves, contactors, or indicators to be controlled from one module position. This can preserve SmartStack space in output-heavy machines.
- Sectioned Loads: The dual-common arrangement supports machines whose outputs are divided into two powered sections. Each section can be documented and diagnosed as its own field group.
- Density Decision: HE800DQM406 is the higher-density member described in MAN0372. HE800DQM306 remains the more compact choice when one 16-point output bank is sufficient.
