Features:
- HE800DQM306 provides 16 sourcing DC outputs.
- Outputs use a 10 to 30 VDC field supply.
- One common serves all 16 output points.
Horner HE800DQM306 is the lower-density DQM option for systems that need one coordinated bank of discrete outputs.
The shared common suits relays, indicators, and small DC actuators that operate from the same field supply.
This configuration is appropriate when 16 points cover the required output count; the DQM406 provides a separate higher-density alternative.
The Horner HE800DQM306 SmartStack Digital Output Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Single Common: All 16 sourcing channels depend on one shared power common. If the common or its field supply is lost, several outputs can appear faulty even when their individual channels are intact.
- Positive Logic: Each output supplies current to the connected load, which then returns to the field-supply reference. This current path must match positive-logic devices rather than loads intended for a sinking output stage.
- Removable Terminal: The spring-clamp terminal block separates from the electronics module. That arrangement keeps the field conductors grouped when the module is removed for inspection or replacement.
- Short-Circuit Response: Electronic protection is built into the transistor output circuitry to help protect a channel during a field short. The load fault still needs to be cleared before the output is returned to service.
- Startup Current: The manual separates the 650 mA inrush allowance from the 0.5 A maximum load current. Coils, lamps, and similar loads should therefore be checked for both startup and running current.
- Bank Diagnosis: A problem at the shared common can affect the complete 16-point group. Checking common voltage and supply continuity first can prevent several healthy outputs from being treated as separate failures.
- Local Temperature: The 0 to 60 degrees C rating applies at the module inside the enclosure, not only to the temperature of the surrounding room. Panel heat from nearby equipment must be included in this check.
- Moisture Control: Operation from 5 to 95 percent relative humidity is specified only for non-condensing conditions. Enclosure design should prevent moisture from forming on the terminal block or electronics.
- Power Budget: The module draws 0.12 W in steady operation from the controller system, with negligible inrush. This small demand still belongs in the SmartStack power calculation for a populated controller.
- Grouped DC Loads: The single-common layout fits a compact bank of relays, indicators, or actuators that share one 10 to 30 VDC field reference. It is less suitable when loads must be separated into independently powered groups.
- Sequence Control: The documented 1 ms turn-on and turn-off response supports normal machine interlocks and sequence outputs. Precision pulse generation should be assigned to a purpose-built high-speed module instead.
- Model Choice: HE800DQM306 covers a 16-point requirement with one common. MAN0372 identifies HE800DQM406 as the related choice when 32 outputs and two commons are required.
