Features:
- Eight inputs accept signals up to 2 MHz.
- Eight outputs source 10 to 28 VDC loads.
- PWM frequency reaches 50 kHz at 50% duty.
Horner HE800HSC601 uses a sourcing output interface for pulse-driven devices that require positive-switched field power.
Its eight fast inputs support several pulse sources, while the output section adds PWM capability for timed commands.
The 2 MHz input and 50 kHz PWM limits help match sensor rates and receiving-device requirements.
The Horner HE800HSC601 SmartStack High-Speed Counter Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Total and Frequency: The selectable HSC functions can accumulate pulse totals or calculate how quickly pulses arrive. The same hardware can therefore support quantity tracking or rate measurement according to the chosen option.
- Compare Actions: A dual-counter option provides preload, latch, and separate ON and OFF comparison values. These functions allow output changes to be tied directly to counter thresholds instead of waiting only for ordinary scan logic.
- Cam and Test: Electronic-cam options coordinate multiple output transitions around counter position, while the diagnostic option is intended only for hardware testing. Selecting the test option does not create a normal production counter function.
- Voltage Matching: Programmable zero-crossing, TTL or 5 VDC, 12 VDC, and 24 VDC thresholds let the input logic match several pulse-source types. The correct range determines which voltage is recognized as ON or OFF.
- High-Speed Timing: A 250 ns minimum pulse width and 500 ns minimum period define the waveform needed for operation up to 2 MHz. Narrower or incomplete pulses may not be counted reliably even when their repetition rate appears acceptable.
- Filter Strategy: The 500 kHz, 50 kHz, and 5 kHz filters let the configuration reject transitions above the useful signal rate. A slower sensor can use a lower filter to reduce false counts from high-frequency noise.
- Current Direction: The positive-logic output stage sources current to compatible 10 to 28 VDC loads. The receiving device and field return must therefore be wired for a sourcing output rather than the sinking arrangement used by HSC600.
- PWM Timing: A 10 microsecond minimum pulse width permits 50 kHz PWM at 50 percent duty cycle, where ON and OFF times are each 10 microseconds. Other duty requirements must preserve the minimum pulse duration.
- Load Limits: Short-circuit protection supports the output bank, but each connected device still has to remain within the 0.5 A load and 650 mA inrush limits. Protection is not a substitute for correct load selection.
- Multiple Pulse Sources: Eight fast inputs allow several compatible encoder, frequency, or event signals to enter one SmartStack module. Each source can be matched through the available voltage thresholds and filter settings.
- Timed Output Control: Counter comparison, pulse, and PWM functions can turn measured events into time-related output actions. The selected HSC option determines which combination of functions is available.
- Polarity Selection: HE800HSC601 belongs in circuits that require sourcing pulse outputs. When the field device expects the output module to sink current, HE800HSC600 is the electrically appropriate companion configuration.
