Features:
- Dual Remote Sensitivity Selection
- Closed-Loop Dynamic Self-Check
- Parallel & Redundant Configuration
Two independent sensitivity adjustments (A/B, 400:1 range) can be remotely selected via external switch. Ideal for multi-fuel burners switching between natural gas and heavy oil without manual readjustment.
When used with R7886 amplifier, the internal shutter automatically tests detector and amplifier response every 5 seconds. Any abnormal response triggers safety shutdown or alarm — no “false safety.”
Up to two detectors can be paralleled to one amplifier with independent sensitivity adjustment, enabling online maintenance. In redundant configuration (2 detectors + 2 amplifiers), a single fault triggers alarm only (no shutdown), maximizing uptime for critical applications.
The C7076A 1015 Honeywell adjustable sensitivity ultraviolet flame detector may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Wide Dynamic Range of Sensitivity: A 400:1 adjustment range allows for a precise balance between sufficient response to its own flame and suppression of neighboring flames.
- Remote Automatic Switching: Two sensitivity settings automatically switch according to fuel or load, eliminating the need for downtime adjustments and improving operational efficiency.
- High Output Signal Strength: Supports signal transmission over tens of meters without special wiring, reducing the need for repeaters.
- Self-Check Enhances Availability: A shutter self-check is performed every 5 seconds. In case of a fault, immediate safety shutdown or alarm is triggered, avoiding "false safety." With redundant configurations, a single alarm can prevent shutdown, balancing safety and continuous operation.
- Ambient temperature range: -40°C to +71°C; upper limit of intake pipe temperature: 107°C, purging and cooling are required if exceeded.
- Positive pressure combustion chamber: Maximum sealing air pressure 5 psig (34.5 kPa), sufficient cooling purge airflow (3 SCFM recommended) and a tight seal are required.
- Vibration protection requirements: Vibration exceeding 1g requires a vibration-damping mounting bracket; otherwise, the lifespan of electronic components will be shortened.
- Installation space: Sufficient space must be provided to allow the detector to be swung out along the hinge for maintenance, while avoiding excessively long or thin sight tubes that could lead to UV attenuation.
- Multi-burner boilers: Boilers with opposing or layered burner arrangements on the front and rear walls require flame discrimination capabilities to ensure that each detector only responds to its own burner and does not falsely report adjacent flames.
- Multi-fuel combustion systems: When natural gas, light oil, heavy oil, or pulverized coal are used alternately, reliable ignition and monitoring are achieved through remote sensitivity switching, eliminating the need for manual readjustment.
- Large turndown ratio burners: Flame patterns vary greatly with load; two detectors can be connected in parallel to optimize flame signals at high and low loads respectively, ensuring stability across the entire load range.
- Power plants and industrial furnaces: Require high-reliability and SIL 3 level safety instrumented systems, and support online maintenance under positive pressure combustion chambers (detectors can be detached without shutting down the system).
