Features:
- Sixteen onboard points combine input, configurable I/O and output functions.
- BACnet/IP Ethernet carries automation-network data independently of the RS485 field bus.
- The control program relates measured conditions to analog and digital output actions.
Each point is assigned according to its electrical type and required role in the application.
The Ethernet and RS485 networks retain separate addresses, rates and physical wiring.
A local RS232 path supports the documented HMI connection without replacing either network interface.
The Siemens PXC16.2-EF.A APOGEE 16-Point BACnet Controller may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Matching each field signal to its electrical role
- Universal inputs: Three points receive the documented selectable input signal types.
- Universal I/O: Five points are configured for their supported input or output function.
- Fixed inputs: Two digital inputs report contact states to the control program.
- Output set: Three analog and three digital outputs apply the calculated control actions.
Carrying controller data over Ethernet
- Network interface: The 10/100 Ethernet connection carries BACnet/IP communication.
- Object data: Controller points and program values are exposed through the configured BACnet structure.
- Address identity: IP and BACnet parameters identify the controller on the automation network.
- Programming relation: Network values interact with the same program that processes onboard points.
Separating the field-level network from Ethernet
- Physical layer: The FLN uses an RS485 multidrop connection.
- Data rate: The configured bus speed remains within 9.6 to 115.2 kbit/s.
- Device addressing: Each field device uses its assigned FLN address on the shared segment.
- Bus boundary: RS485 termination and polarity are independent of the BACnet/IP Ethernet cable.
Relating memory, processing and physical outputs
- Application storage: Program memory retains the controller sequence and point definitions.
- Input processing: The processor evaluates onboard and network values against the programmed logic.
- Output result: Calculated actions are written to the assigned analog or digital points.
- Local access: The RS232 interface provides the documented HMI connection for service interaction.
