Features:
- Sercos interface with selectable 4 Mbps or 8 Mbps data rates for high-speed deterministic communication.
- Supports up to 8 drives with cycle times as low as 0.5 ms for coordinated multi-axis motion.
- Position, velocity, and torque control modes with 760 mA backplane current draw and 5.0 W power dissipation.
The 1756-M03SE/A uses Sercos to synchronize up to 8 drives. At 4 Mbps, cycle times drop to 0.5 ms for two drives—fast enough for printing and packaging lines. At 8 Mbps, four drives run at 0.5 ms. No missed steps, no lag.
Position, velocity, or torque? The 1756-M03SE/A handles all three. Configure each drive independently. Use plastic fiber-optic cables for short runs or glass for longer distances. The module fits any ControlLogix slot.
Operates from 0 to 60°C, stores from -40 to 85°C. Conformal-coated versions (K suffix) handle moisture and corrosion. The T4A temperature code means safe operation in hazardous locations. The 1756-M03SE/A keeps running when others fail.
The 1756-M03SE/A Allen-Bradley Interface Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond
End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- High-speed packaging and material handling: Suitable for packaging machinery, bottling lines, and sorting systems requiring precise synchronization of multiple servo axes.
- Precision positioning and cutting: Provides stable control in applications with extremely high synchronization requirements, such as CNC machining, flying shears, or rotary cutting.
- Multi-axis synchronous control: Supports three control modes: position, velocity, and torque, suitable for complex robot collaboration or printing equipment.
- SERCOS Interface: Adopts the SERCOS protocol of IEC 61491, connecting the servo driver via a single digital fiber optic loop.
- Fiber Optic Connection: Uses ST interface fiber optic cables, effectively eliminating electrical noise interference and eliminating up to 18 traditional digital cables per axis.
- Supported Drivers: Compatible with Kinetix 6000, Kinetix 7000, and Ultra3000 SERCOS servo drivers.
- Communication Performance: Supports data transfer rates of 4 Mbps or 8 Mbps. When controlling two axes at 4 Mbps, the cycle time can be as fast as 0.5 ms.
- Environmental Compliance: Complies with RoHS, CE directives, and Australian RCM standards.
- Hazardous Environment Certification:UL Listed, suitable for Class I, Division 2 (Group A, B, C, D) hazardous areas.
- ATEX Certified (e.g., II 3 G Ex ec IIC T4 Gc), allowing use in potentially explosive environments, but must be installed in a protective enclosure with an IP54 rating or higher.
- Protective Design: Features photoelectric isolation protection, effectively isolating the channel from the back panel from electrical shocks, and withstands voltage tests up to 500V AC.
