Features:
- 100 W combined output.
- 20 A at +5 VDC.
- 2 A at +12 VDC.
100 W combined output establishes the principal capability of
IC697PWR711 within its Series 90-70 function.
The relationship between 20 A at +5 VDC and 2 A at +12 VDC determines how the module fits the surrounding rack, network, or field circuit.
During service, 1 A at -12 VDC must remain consistent with the saved application and the installed hardware.

AC and DC sources accepted by IC697PWR711
- AC operation: The supply accepts either 120 VAC or 240 VAC input at 47 to 63 Hz.
- DC operation: A 125 VDC source can power the same rack supply within its specified input range.
- Terminal safety: Input conductors remain hazardous at the terminal board even when the front switch is off.
- Ride-through: Stored energy sustains the rack through a complete input interruption of at least 21 ms at full load.
Distribution of the 100 W output
- +5 V rail: The logic rail provides up to 20 A for rack electronics.
- +12 V rail: Positive auxiliary power is available up to 2 A.
- -12 V rail: The negative auxiliary output is rated at 1 A.
- Combined limit: Loads on all three rails must remain within the 100 W total rating.
Responses to abnormal electrical conditions
- Overcurrent: The +5 V output is electronically protected against excessive current.
- Overvoltage: A detected overvoltage condition removes the affected output to protect the rack.
- Input fuse: The specified replacement fuse must retain the same type and current rating.
- Fault recovery: Rack loading and field wiring are checked before power is restored after a protection trip.
Installing the supply in a Series 90-70 rack
- Fixed position: IC697PWR711 plugs into the leftmost power-supply position and mates with the 48-pin backplane connector.
- Logic sequencing: The module supplies the sequencing signals required by the backplane during startup and shutdown.
- Load assessment: Current demand from every installed module is totaled by rail rather than compared only with the 100 W nameplate.
- Power isolation: Rack and field energy are controlled before the supply or adjacent terminal boards are handled.
