Features:
- Eight channel-to-channel isolated analog inputs
- Independent current or voltage selection for every channel
- Factory calibration with channel and module fault reporting
The
General Electric IC200ALG240 catalog number specifies an eight-point VersaMax analog input module with isolated channel pairs and software-selected input modes.
One rack position can collect current and voltage measurements from field devices while the CPU or NIU receives eight data words plus diagnostic status.
The installation design must provide external field power, match each terminal pair to its configured signal type and follow the carrier-specific shield connection. Compatible NIU firmware is required to configure the module.
The General Electric IC200ALG240 Isolated Analog Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Interpreting Module and Channel Faults
- Field-power state: The FLD PWR LED confirms the presence of both backplane power and the external field supply.
- Module state: The OK LED distinguishes normal operation, boot or firmware activity, self-diagnostic activity and loss of 3.3 V power.
- Open-wire report: A configured current input reports an open circuit when the signal falls below the channel's applicable live-zero threshold.
- Range reports: Overrange and underrange status separates converter-limit conditions from ordinary high or low alarms.
- Supply fault: Loss of the external field source is returned as a module condition instead of a single-channel alarm.
- Calibration memory: A non-volatile memory fault identifies a problem with stored field-recalibration data.
Mode, Scaling and Alarm Choices
- Signal mode: Every isolated point can be assigned 4–20 mA current or ±10 V voltage independently of adjacent channels.
- Channel state: Unused inputs can be marked inactive so their data and diagnostics do not affect the configured station.
- Engineering scale: Two-point scaling converts each channel's raw span into the required engineering-unit range.
- Alarm limits: Separate high and low values allow the controller to report process thresholds without changing the input range.
- Line rejection: The 50 Hz or 60 Hz setting selects the digital-filter notch appropriate for local mains interference.
Field Supply and Isolated Wiring
- Power terminals: A18 accepts the positive field supply and A17 provides the DC return for the isolated input circuits.
- Current path: Current transmitters connect through the assigned positive and IIN-negative terminals, with the negative terminals joined as shown for best accuracy.
- Voltage path: Voltage sources connect between the designated VIN-positive and VIN-negative terminals for their channel.
- Shield method: Cable shields terminate at the points specified for the installed connector-style, spring-style or box-style carrier.
Isolated Mixed-Signal Measurement
- Mixed instruments: Independent channel modes allow voltage devices and 4–20 mA transmitters to occupy one module position.
- Separate references: Channel-to-channel isolation supports sources with unlike field references within the published isolation limits.
- Remote I/O: A compatible VersaMax NIU can return the eight channel words and fault status from a distributed station.
