More Information

Overview Manuals DC Startup Relay Interface Counter Setup Applications

Features:

  • Uses a 24 VDC control source for eight inputs and six Form A relay outputs.
  • Accepts positive- or negative-logic sensors and built-in counting to 10 kHz.
  • Preserves application data in flash and supports four expansion units.
A 19.2-30 VDC operating window lets General Electric IC200UDR002 share a regulated machine-control supply. The internal power section also provides 24 VDC for input circuitry and eligible devices within its 200 mA allowance.

The eight inputs can be filtered for normal signals or assigned to high-speed counter functions. Six isolated relay contacts then switch separately powered AC or DC circuits without tying the load voltage to the controller supply.

Two covered, removable barrier-style terminal assemblies carry the field conductors. An RS-232 RJ-45 port, two analog potentiometers and a configurable Run/Stop switch complete the front-access hardware.

The General Electric IC200UDR002 14-Point 24 VDC VersaMax Micro PLC may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

24 VDC Source Behaviour

  • Operating range: Hold the controller input between 19.2 and 30 VDC during steady operation.
  • Starting demand: Provide the transient capacity required for the one-amp maximum inrush at 30 VDC.
  • Diagnostic delay: With power-up diagnostics disabled, logic solution begins after the input has maintained 24 VDC for 100 ms.
  • Hold-up period: The power section maintains operation for 10 ms at 19.2 VDC.

External Load Circuit Rules

  • Separate energy: Feed field devices from their own AC or DC source instead of the controller input supply.
  • Contact range: Apply loads within the documented 5-30 VDC or 5-250 VAC switching range.
  • Current limit: Keep pilot-duty and resistive circuits within 2 A at 24 VDC or 240 VAC.
  • Inrush check: Account for the five-amp per-half-cycle contact limit when selecting lamps or coils.

Fast Input Allocation

  • Counter options: Choose up to four Type A counters or one Type A together with one Type B.
  • Signal ceiling: Limit rapid pulse inputs to 10 kHz with the required duty cycle.
  • Edge handling: Set Type A channels for up/down direction and positive or negative edge detection as needed.
  • Output restriction: Use relay counter outputs only where applicable; PWM and pulse-train modes are unavailable.

DC-Controlled Machine Tasks

  • Cabinet integration: The 24 VDC controller supply fits panels already using a regulated control bus.
  • Device actuation: Form A contacts operate compatible starters, valves and indicators with independent field power.
  • Event counting: High-speed inputs capture production counts or velocity-related pulses.
  • Distributed expansion: Up to four compatible expansion units add I/O around the compact CPU.
Description
Powered directly from a 24 VDC control bus, the General Electric IC200UDR002 places eight discrete inputs and six normally open relay outputs in one compact controller. Input points accept either positive- or negative-logic field wiring.

At startup, the General Electric IC200UDR002 needs a source capable of supplying transient current while maintaining the controller voltage. Once running, its integrated 24 VDC output can serve the input circuits and user devices within a combined 200 mA limit.

Mixed-voltage switching is handled by the six Form A contacts on the General Electric IC200UDR002. They operate compatible 5-30 VDC or 5-250 VAC devices from an external load supply, allowing the same controller to sequence starters, solenoids and indicators.

Fast sensing on the General Electric IC200UDR002 is available through as many as four Type A counters or one Type A plus one Type B counter at up to 10 kHz. Relay contacts may be assigned to counter-output service, but their mechanics do not support PWM or pulse-train commands.

Technical notes
General Electric IC200UDR002 uses a 19.2-30 VDC controller supply and integrates eight configurable inputs with six externally powered Form A relay circuits.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Why does General Electric IC200UDR002 reset when the 24 VDC supply is first applied?
The source feeding General Electric IC200UDR002 must support its startup demand without dropping below the operating range; check supply capacity, cable loss and the one-amp maximum inrush requirement.
What should be verified when a proximity sensor is ignored by General Electric IC200UDR002?
For General Electric IC200UDR002, match the sensor polarity to the selected input logic, check the common connection, and confirm the signal reaches the 15 VDC minimum ON threshold.
A relay LED changes but the load remains inactive on General Electric IC200UDR002; where is the likely break?
General Electric IC200UDR002 switches an externally powered load circuit, so trace the field source, relay common, normally open contact, protective device and return path rather than assuming controller power feeds the load.
How can General Electric IC200UDR002 count a fast signal without disturbing ordinary inputs?
Assign only the required high-speed points and select the appropriate Type A or Type B arrangement in General Electric IC200UDR002; the remaining input channels can stay in standard filtered service.
Which differences matter when replacing an AC-powered 14-point controller with General Electric IC200UDR002?
General Electric IC200UDR002 requires a 24 VDC controller source, so compare the incoming supply, terminal wiring, auxiliary current budget, relay-load circuits and program before any physical substitution.
Can General Electric IC200UDR002 drive a stepper through its relay contacts?
General Electric IC200UDR002 does not provide PWM or pulse-train output through the relay contacts; use them for suitable switched loads and select a transistor-output model when a rapid pulse waveform is required.
