Overview Manuals Applications Monitoring Safety Operating Environment

Features:

  • Provides eight commoned 115 VAC outputs with fully fault-tolerant TMR relay voting.
  • Supervises field power, fuse continuity and connected load through voltage and current loopback circuits.
  • Supports a hot-spare module using a separate external termination panel and cable interface.
The 3611E ordering code identifies the deep-green 115 VAC SDO module with eight commoned output points and hot-spare capability.

Its 2,000 VA resistive switching capacity serves critical AC output circuits that may hold one state for extended periods while the supervision paths continue checking field conditions.

Match the 90–155 VAC, 47–63 Hz source and 50 mA minimum load, then confirm the separate ETP, cable interface, and 2.5 A point fuse before commissioning.

Availability is subject to Apter Power inventory and sourcing confirmation.

  • Drives critical 115 VAC shutdown and trip loads that need continuous supervision while energized or de-energized.
  • Detects loss of field power, an open load and field shorts within the limits of the selected AC or DC model.
  • Supports long-dwell protective outputs in emergency shutdown, fire-and-gas and burner-management systems.
  • Three processor commands enter a quadruplicated relay voter that determines the state of each of the eight supervised AC outputs.
  • Voltage and current feedback monitor the external source and connected load instead of observing only the internal relay command.
  • POINT, PWR and LOAD indications separate commanded state, field-power condition and load supervision from PASS, FAULT and ACTIVE status.
  • Supervision detects loss of field power, a blown fuse and an open or disconnected load while the output circuit remains under monitoring.
  • A field short that energizes an AC load when its command is Off is reported as a supervised external-circuit fault.
  • Each channel uses a 2.5 A fast-acting fuse on the dedicated 9661-510F termination arrangement.
  • The field circuit is designed for 90–155 VAC operation across the documented 47–63 Hz frequency range.
  • Each output carries 2 A continuously and permits 10 A inrush for one AC cycle when the connected load remains within the switching limit.
  • Reliable supervision requires at least 50 mA of load; leakage-sensitive coils must also tolerate the specified 4 mA maximum.
Description
Triconex 3611E is an eight-point, commoned 115 VAC supervised TMR digital output module for critical loads that may remain energized or de-energized for long periods. Mechanical power relays within the fully fault-tolerant quadruplicated voter pass the approved command to each external circuit. The module is intended for AC trip, relay and actuator duties where the condition of the field path must be observed as well as the logical command.

Voltage and current feedback extend supervision beyond the internal output switch. The module can identify loss of field power, a blown fuse, an open or missing load and a field short that energizes an AC load when its command should be off. Separate POINT, PWR and LOAD indications help technicians distinguish command state, source condition and load-path faults from PASS, FAULT or ACTIVE events within the module itself.

The connected circuit must satisfy the 90–155 VAC range, 47–63 Hz frequency range, 50 mA minimum load and documented continuous and inrush limits for supervision to remain dependable. Each point uses the specified fast-acting fuse on the dedicated termination panel, and sensitive coils should be checked against the leakage current. Unlike supported supervised DC variants, this AC model does not use a secondary low-voltage supply for additional off-state short detection.

Technical notes
3611E does not use the 5 VDC secondary-supply method for detecting a shorted load while de-energized; verify the AC circuit and ETP protection scheme before replacement.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Why does 3611E require at least a 50 mA load?
The supervised loop needs the documented minimum current to distinguish a connected AC load from an open or missing field circuit.
Which field fault is not available on 3611E?
The AC model does not provide the optional-secondary-supply method for detecting a shorted load while the output is de-energized.
Where is 3611E preferable to a standard digital output?
Use it for long-dwell 115 VAC trip loads where power, fuse and load continuity need continuous supervision.
What commercial checks precede a 3611E quotation?
Apter Power verifies exact model, ETP, module condition, test scope, quantity, destination and required delivery timing.
Can 3611E be exchanged for a DC supervised module?
No. Field source, frequency, minimum load, surge, fuse, leakage and secondary-power behavior differ materially.
Which circuit values should accompany a 3611E technical request?
Provide field voltage and frequency, load VA, steady and inrush current, minimum load, ETP, fuse, cable and safety function.
