Features:
- Up to 20 simultaneous Modbus client and server connections
- One configurable Modbus Serial application port
- Modbus TCP/IP pass-through to a serial RTU Slave
PLX31-MBTCP-MBS joins Ethernet-based Modbus TCP/IP systems to a single Modbus Serial network in a stand-alone DIN-rail gateway.
Its Ethernet side supports a combined total of 20 simultaneous client and server connections, while a 10,000-register database provides the normal exchange area.
Choose the serial Master or Slave role, RTU or ASCII framing, Ethernet connections, command paths, and pass-through addressing before commissioning.
The ProSoft PLX31-MBTCP-MBS Modbus TCP/IP to Modbus Serial Communication Gateway is listed as Active / Available from OEM. Apter Power can review Modbus topology and procurement needs.

Ethernet connection management
- Combined capacity: The gateway supports up to 20 simultaneous Modbus TCP/IP client and server connections in total.
- Register database: Up to 10,000 16-bit registers are available for network data exchange.
- Client operation: Configured commands define target IP, function, register address, quantity, and polling behavior.
- Server operation: Remote Modbus TCP/IP clients can access data exposed through the configured server paths.
Single-port configuration
- Application port: One Modbus Serial channel connects the gateway to the field network.
- Role selection: The serial driver can operate as a Modbus Master or Slave.
- Framing options: RTU and ASCII modes are available with configurable baud, parity, data bits, and stop bits.
- Physical layer: Select and wire the documented RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 interface for the installation.
Direct request routing
- RTU destination: Pass-through service routes a Modbus TCP/IP request to a serial RTU Slave.
- Address handling: Unit identifiers and serial node addresses must be coordinated across the two networks.
- Traffic planning: Pass-through demand shares the serial channel with configured gateway activity.
- Commissioning test: Verify one request path at a time, then confirm timeout, retry, response length, and register addressing.
