Features:
- Implements SIMOREG converter regulation through CUD1 L2 processor electronics.
- Combines serial, analog, and binary control paths on one board.
- Includes the terminal set supplied with the C98043-A7001-L2 assembly.
The CUD1 architecture brings command processing and signal conversion together inside the converter control layer.
Its L2 hardware designation separates this board from the earlier control-electronics release associated with pre-3.0 software.
Terminal-level interfaces expose operating signals without moving the regulation algorithms away from the central processor electronics.
The Siemens 6RY1703-0AA01 SIMOREG DC-MASTER CUD1 Control Electronics may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

CUD1 Regulation Core
- Board identity: The control electronics use internal part C98043-A7001-L2.
- Processor duty: CUD1 executes both open-loop and closed-loop converter control.
- Hardware generation: The L2 assembly is assigned to software release 3.0 and higher.
- Signal conversion: On-board ADC and DAC circuits link the processor with analog channels.
Terminal and Serial Paths
- G-SST1: The first serial connection is available at X300 through the PMU.
- G-SST2: The second serial path is routed to terminals 56 through 60.
- Analog outputs: DAC channels appear at terminals 14 and 16.
- Current signal: Terminal 12 delivers 5 V when rated current is reached.
L2 Release Boundary
- Release threshold: C98043-A7001-L2 is used with software version 3.0 or later.
- Earlier hardware: C98043-A7001-L1 belongs to software below release 3.0.
- Matching rule: The complete L-number is required when identifying the correct CUD1 electronics.
- Stored parameters: Converter parameters reside in the backplane EEPROM rather than the CUD1 board.
Auxiliary Output Limits
- Encoder feed: P15 provides encoder power with a 200 mA limit.
- Binary-input feed: P24 is an output and must not be externally energized.
- Digital outputs: Terminals 46 and 48 provide 24 V outputs rated at 100 mA.
- Reference scheme: The analog and binary interfaces operate with ground-referenced signals.
