Features:
- Twenty-four field channels receive individually fused 24 V DC sensor power.
- Dual module connectors support one-module or two-module fail-safe input arrangements.
- Redundant A and B power inputs are diode-ORed before feeding module and channel circuits.
The 6ES7650-1AK11-7XX0 separates field terminations, module connectors, power fuses, and shield grounding on a long-form MTA.
Channel LEDs reflect the combined condition of supply power, the individual fuse, and the local disconnect switch.
Safety capability depends on the connected F-DI modules and voting architecture; the termination assembly does not add channel isolation.
The Siemens 6ES7650-1AK11-7XX0 12/24-Channel 24 V DC Fail-Safe Discrete Input MTA may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Redundant Supply Distribution
- A and B inputs: Two removable input connectors accept separate 24 V DC feeds.
- Diode OR path: The two feeds combine through diode isolation so either source can energize the MTA.
- Module branches: Separate fuses feed the F-DI modules connected at J1 and J2.
- Channel branches: Individual 0.05 A fuses distribute field power to each channel independently.
Channel Terminal Relationships
- CHx+ terminal: The positive terminal supplies fused 24 V DC to the field device.
- CHx- terminal: The return signal travels from the field device toward the F-DI module input.
- Shield terminal: Each channel group provides shield termination tied through the documented grounding arrangement.
- Disconnect switch: Local switches remove field power from their assigned channel groups without changing terminal wiring.
One- and Two-Module Operation
- J1 connection: The first fail-safe input module receives signals and power through J1.
- J2 connection: A second module connects through J2 when the system uses redundant I/O.
- Single-module mode: A non-redundant system installs one module on either supported connector.
- Voting boundary: Achievable SIL and category depend on the connected module arrangement, not on the MTA alone.
Documented Design Restrictions
- Sensor redundancy: Two redundant sensors cannot be connected to one MTA channel.
- Channel isolation: Channels and channel groups do not have galvanic isolation from each other.
- Cross-circuit detection: Certain cross circuits are not detected when the module sensor supply is not used.
- Mounting temperature: Horizontal mounting permits the higher documented maximum of +70 °C; vertical mounting is limited to +60 °C.
