Features:
- Eight 0/4–20 mA channels acquire current-loop values and HART device communication.
- Sixteen-bit conversion and selectable integration times organize analog measurement and noise rejection.
- Diagnostic alarms, limit alarms, conformal coating, and an extended temperature range support monitored operation.
Current from each transmitter enters its assigned channel, passes through the shared input group, and becomes an S7-300 process value.
HART messages travel over the analog loop, while the integration setting controls the conversion timing and interference suppression.
Alarm data reaches the controller and the SF LED supplies a local group indication across the coated environmental design.

Eight Current-Loop Measurement Channels
- Channel count: Eight inputs measure current signals in the configured 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA range.
- Input resistance: Each current path presents the documented 240-ohm input resistance.
- Signal limit: The maximum permissible current at a channel is 40 mA before the destruction boundary.
- Cable length: Shielded transmitter wiring may extend to 800 m under the specified installation conditions.
Transmitter Communication and Analog Processing
- HART path: Digital HART communication shares the same current-loop wiring as the analog process value.
- Transmitter types: The module supports both two-wire and four-wire current transmitters.
- Resolution: Conversion produces a value with as many as 16 bits including sign.
- Integration: Selectable integration times align conversion with 10, 50, or 60 Hz interference suppression.
Diagnostic Reporting and Electrical Grouping
- Diagnostic alarm: A detected module or channel condition can generate the configured diagnostic alarm.
- Limit alarm: Measured values crossing a configured limit can trigger a process alarm.
- Channel group: All eight inputs belong to one group and are not isolated from one another.
- System boundary: The channel group is isolated from the backplane bus and electronics supply.
SIPLUS Environmental Design
- Conformal coating: The coated electronics are based on the corresponding S7-300 SM331 current module.
- Operating range: The SIPLUS variant operates from -25 to +70 °C within the documented derating boundary.
- Condensation class: The specified humidity test includes condensation and frost, without commissioning while condensed.
- Interface covers: Unused interfaces retain their supplied covers where the environmental classification requires them.
