Overview Manuals Applications Interoperability Integration Temperature & Humidity Range

Features:

  • Terminates supported INFI 90 digital and analog I/O signal wiring.
  • Occupies one position in the standard termination mounting unit.
  • Uses the documented +24 V DC bus supply with applicable I/O modules.
The NIDI01 order identifies the standard one-slot field-termination assembly for supported INFI 90 I/O modules.

It keeps plant conductors on the termination unit while removable electronics connect through the documented cable path.

Select it only after matching the I/O module type, +24 V bus requirement, terminal allocation and cabinet environment.

Legacy termination hardware is sourced after companion-module and field-wiring compatibility are confirmed.

  • Terminate digital and selected analog field circuits in an INFI 90 cabinet.
  • Preserve permanent plant wiring while a supported plug-in I/O module is serviced.
  • Provide the documented +24 V field path for applicable connected modules.
  • The official compatibility table defines which INFI 90 I/O modules may use this termination.
  • Channel voltage and signal behavior are governed by the connected I/O module.
  • The cable and mounting-unit arrangement must follow instruction I-E96-410A.
  • The assembly occupies one position in a standard termination mounting unit.
  • Field conductors remain on the terminal block while the associated module is serviced.
  • Grounding and cable routing must follow the Bailey cabinet practice.
  • Ambient operation is specified from 0 to 70 °C.
  • Relative humidity may reach 95% at temperatures up to 55 °C.
  • At 70 °C the permitted humidity is reduced to 45%, noncondensing.
Description
NIDI01 provides the field-wiring termination point for the supported INFI 90 input and output modules listed in instruction I-E96-410A. It separates permanent field wiring from the plug-in I/O module connection so a module can be serviced without rebuilding the complete field termination.

Field conductors land on the termination-module terminals and are routed through the module and cable connection to the associated I/O module. For applicable modules, the +24 V DC termination-mounting-unit bus bar supplies the field-side circuits; the NIDI01 itself does not execute control logic.

The documented compatibility table covers analog-output, digital-input, digital-output and selected frequency-counter signal types. The actual channel behavior, voltage range and output duty are determined by the connected I/O module, so the selected module and wiring diagram must be checked together.

Technical notes
NIDI01 wiring compatibility is determined by the connected INFI 90 I/O module; verify the I-E96-410A application table and terminal plan before moving conductors.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Which I/O cards may be wired through ABB NIDI01?
Only the INFI 90 modules listed in ABB Bailey instruction I-E96-410A should be used; the signal type must be checked in the compatibility table.
Does ABB NIDI01 perform control logic inside the DCS?
No. It provides field termination and signal routing, while the connected I/O module and controller perform acquisition and logic.
How does ABB NIDI01 simplify maintenance work?
Permanent field wiring stays at the termination unit, allowing the associated plug-in module or cable to be serviced without rebuilding every field connection.
When is the +24 V bus relevant to ABB NIDI01?
Applicable supported I/O modules use the termination-mounting-unit bus for their field-side circuits; the exact wiring diagram determines its use.
Which ABB instruction should govern an NIDI01 field-terminal migration?
Use instruction I-E96-410A to confirm the supported module, connector cable, slot format, terminal allocation, bus supply and permitted environment.
Which documentation should be requested with an ABB NIDI01 quotation?
Ask for the model label, connected I/O module, termination cable, field-voltage drawing, quantity and destination together with I-E96-410A.
