More Information

Overview Manuals Applications Control Safety & Compliance Operating Environment

Features:

  • Provides the documented digital-station termination and bypass functions.
  • Supports manual raise/lower and automatic-mode signalling for electric-drive applications.
  • Works with the NICS01 control-station termination arrangement.
NIDS01 is the one-slot termination element for the documented INFI 90 digital control-station circuit.

It routes operator commands and electric-drive signals while providing the approved bypass connection points.

Pairing with NICS01, +24 V supply and station-terminal identity must be confirmed against the plant drawing.

Sourcing depends on the exact station, bypass and companion-termination configuration.

  • Connect manual raise and lower commands for an electric-drive station.
  • Terminate the documented manual/automatic state path in INFI 90 control schemes.
  • Maintain a station bypass arrangement during approved service procedures.
  • Manual raise and lower commands are routed through the documented station circuits.
  • The manual or automatic state forms part of the installed drive-control scheme.
  • Application interlocks remain in the controller and external protection circuits.
  • The bypass connection maintains the defined station path during authorized service.
  • Bypass use does not replace application permissives or protective interlocks.
  • Terminal sequencing must follow the official connection diagrams.
  • The termination is rated for 0 to 70 °C ambient service.
  • Operation is limited to a noncorrosive cabinet atmosphere.
  • The documented humidity profile is noncondensing across the stated temperature range.
Description
NIDS01 terminates the signals used by an INFI 90 digital control station and its associated electric-drive control circuits. The module supports the station connections documented with NICS01 and provides a defined service point between operator hardware and the control system.

The termination circuits carry manual raise and lower commands and the documented manual/automatic state. In the manual state the station can act directly on the drive-control path; in automatic operation the command path is governed by the connected control-system logic.

The bypass arrangement allows the station wiring path to be maintained or serviced according to the official connection diagrams. It does not replace the application logic, permissives or protective interlocks implemented elsewhere in the drive-control scheme.

Technical notes
NIDS01 must retain the documented manual/automatic and drive-bypass wiring; verify every station terminal before maintenance to avoid unintended drive commands.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
What station commands are terminated by ABB NIDS01?
The official circuit covers manual raise, manual lower and manual/automatic status for the associated digital control-station arrangement.
Why is ABB NIDS01 paired with NICS01 in the wiring review?
The two termination modules participate in the documented station interface, so cable and terminal compatibility must be considered together.
How should ABB NIDS01 bypass wiring be treated during maintenance?
Use the approved plant procedure and official diagram; bypassing the station does not override the external permissives and safety interlocks.
How does ABB NIDS01 keep plant conductors independent of the plug-in I/O board?
It terminates the permanent field wiring in one INFI 90 termination-mounting-unit slot while the compatible electronics connect through the documented cable assembly.
Can a generic digital termination replace ABB NIDS01?
Not without confirming station functions, bypass path, NICS01 relationship, connector pinout and field terminal numbering.
What information helps quote ABB NIDS01 for an electric-drive station?
Provide the module label, NICS01 presence, station and drive drawings, mounting-unit details, quantity and shipment destination.
