Features:
- S200-TB3 S200TB3 provides 16 signal terminals plus 18 internally connected 0V and 18 +24V terminals.
- Internal bussing of middle and lower rows eliminates external jumper wires between multiple field devices.
- Key switch prevents incorrect I/O unit insertion; supports DIN rail and panel mounting with 10A rating.
The S200-TB3 S200TB3 organizes field wiring into three clearly separated rows with exceptional internal connectivity. The upper row offers 16 screw terminals (positions 0-15) dedicated to input or output signals from the attached I/O unit. The middle row provides eighteen 0V DC terminals (16-33) that are internally connected to a common reference rail, with the rightmost and leftmost terminals designed for power supply connection. The lower row delivers eighteen +24V DC terminals (34-51) that are also internally connected, with the leftmost and rightmost terminals designated for power supply input.
The S200-TB3 S200TB3 offers flexible installation methods to suit different cabinet designs. For standard DIN rail mounting, a locking tab engages the rail securely while a snap lock provides positive retention of the attached I/O unit. For environments where vibration is a concern or where DIN rail is not available, the S200-TB3 S200TB3 includes Ø4.5mm screw holes for direct panel mounting. A key switch mechanism prevents insertion of incorrect I/O units into preconfigured terminal bases—the backplane code key must match the installed unit's code position.
The S200-TB3 S200TB3 provides 36 dedicated power terminals (18 for 0V and 18 for +24V) in addition to its 16 signal terminals, offering exceptional density for power distribution. The internally connected rows mean that connecting power at any single terminal on the middle or lower row energizes all eighteen positions on that row. This allows the S200-TB3 S200TB3 to power up to eighteen three-wire sensors or other devices from a single power supply connection point.
The S200-TB3 S200TB3 ABB I/O Unit may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Complex Process Industries: Widely deployed in petrochemical, power generation, pharmaceutical, metallurgical, and water treatment plants with extensive networks of active transmitters.
- Factory & Discrete Automation: Works in tandem with ABB classic control networks (SattLine, SattCon 200, AC250) to control production lines and large-scale automated machinery.
- High-Density Cabinet Integration: Purpose-built for space-constrained Central Control Cabinets and Remote I/O Boxes where clean wire management is essential.
- Elimination of External Terminal Strips: Featuring a three-tier terminal layout (Signal, +24V DC Power, and Common/Return), the TB3 reduces cabinet wiring and terminal footprint by up to 50%. Field instruments draw loop power directly from the base.
- High-Capacity Power Bus: The heavy-duty internal power rail can distribute several amperes across the rack, easily sustaining eight high-power 3-wire instruments simultaneously without voltage drops.
- Zero-Downtime Hot-Swapping: The base contains no delicate active silicon components. When an attached active I/O module fails, technicians can hot-swap the electronic module live while leaving dozens of field wires completely undisturbed, slashing Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) to seconds.
- 3-Wire Proximity & Photoelectric Sensors: Standard NPN/PNP industrial sensors (V+, V-, Signal Out) plug directly into the TB3 on a 1-to-1 basis, removing the need to hunt for external 24V distribution blocks.
- 4-Wire / Externally Powered Flowmeters & Gas Detectors: Precision instruments requiring a dedicated 24V supply loop alongside an isolated 4-20mA signal pair receive an organized, direct termination layout.
- Solenoids & Actuator Drive Loops: In Digital Output (DO) or Analog Output (AO) loop configurations, the TB3’s multi-common infrastructure ensures clean, single-point grounding to protect the system against ground-loop noise.
