More Information

Overview Manuals Specifications Installation & Interface Programming & Diagnostics Application
  • Programmable closed-loop control for one servo axis
  • Supports incremental, absolute, speed and multi-segment motion
  • Interfaces through the 1746-HT termination panel and 1746-HCA cable

1746-HSRV adds programmable one-axis servo control to a compatible local SLC system.

A complete installation includes the supported processor and chassis, drive and motor, encoder, 1746-HT panel, 1746-HCA cable, field power, motion program, and machine safety circuits.

Replacement commissioning should verify feedback, direction, homing, limits, profiles, tuning, stops, faults, power recovery, and the full guarded machine sequence.

Availability: Current exact-model lifecycle evidence was not sufficient for publication; condition, revision and supply are confirmed during quotation.

Description
1746-HSRV is an Allen-Bradley SLC Servo Control Module for one axis of closed-loop positioning. It supports incremental, absolute and speed moves, with multi-segment motion profiles managed by a compatible local SLC processor.

The official manual documents three fast 24V DC inputs, one fast 24V DC output, quadrature feedback, a 2ms update, and use of the 1746-HT termination panel with a 1746-HCA cable. It is not intended for a remote SLC chassis.

Before replacement, preserve the SLC and motion programs, axis configuration, tuning, profiles, limits, homing, feedback, fast-I/O assignments, fault actions, firmware, and complete termination-panel and cable identification.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Can Allen-Bradley 1746-HSRV operate in a remote SLC chassis?
No. The official manual requires a compatible local chassis and processor. Confirm slot position, power budget, processor support, and program ownership.
What additional hardware may be required to install Allen-Bradley 1746-HSRV?
The installation may require a compatible termination panel, interconnect cable, feedback wiring, drive interface, and related connectors. Treat these as separate items unless the quotation explicitly states that they are included.
What should be backed up before replacing Allen-Bradley 1746-HSRV?
Archive the SLC program, motion configuration, profiles, scaling, tuning, homing, limits, fast I/O, fault actions, and module identification.
Why can Allen-Bradley 1746-HSRV appear healthy while the axis will not move?
Check controller mode, axis ownership, drive enable, emergency-stop chain, motion command, profile state, limits, feedback, fast I/O, and active module or drive faults.
What causes repeated following-error faults after replacing Allen-Bradley 1746-HSRV?
Review feedback direction and scaling, motor and drive tuning, mechanical binding, acceleration, velocity, load inertia, command polarity, cable noise, and coupling condition.
Can existing feedback and interconnect cables be reused with Allen-Bradley 1746-HSRV?
Do not assume they can. Verify catalog numbers, connectors, shields, pinout, insulation, routing, flex damage, contamination, grounding, and compatibility with the retained drive and encoder.
What should be proven before returning Allen-Bradley 1746-HSRV to production?
Test direction, homing, all limits, incremental and absolute moves, speed moves, profiles, fast I/O, stop behavior, faults, recovery, and the guarded machine cycle.
