Features:
- Receives thirty-two 120 VAC inputs in four isolated groups of eight.
- Applies a 20 ms filter to each discrete field signal.
- Accepts compatible two-wire and three-wire proximity switches.
IC697MDL250 lets separate AC phases feed independent eight-point banks while one module reports all thirty-two signals to the PLC.
Its resistor-capacitor input network follows IEC type 2 behavior, balancing field current with defined ON and OFF thresholds.
Point indicators at the module face show the logic-side state, so the PLC reading can be compared with the connected field circuit.
The General Electric IC697MDL250 Series 90-70 Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Independent eight-point banks
- Four Sections: The thirty-two inputs are divided evenly into banks A, B, C, and D.
- Separate Commons: Each bank has its own AC line and neutral connection rather than sharing one module-wide common.
- Phase Flexibility: Different supply phases can be assigned to separate banks when the field design requires it.
- Logic Transfer: Every bank passes eight conditioned states through the module interface to the PLC backplane.
Reactive sensor interface
- IEC Behavior: The resistor-capacitor input presents type 2 current-voltage characteristics to the field device.
- Two-Wire Sensors: Compatible proximity switches may power through the same conductors used for state sensing.
- Three-Wire Sensors: Separately powered proximity outputs can drive a module point within the specified load line.
- Leakage Limit: OFF-state sensor current must remain below the module's permitted 2.2 mA boundary.
Defined AC state recognition
- ON Voltage: A valid high state lies between 75 and 132 VAC at 47 to 63 Hz.
- OFF Voltage: The low-state region extends from zero through 25 VAC at the same frequency range.
- Current Window: ON-state current spans 6 to 15 mA, with about 10 mA typical at rated voltage.
- Filter Interval: A 20 ms delay prevents short AC disturbances from appearing as valid PLC transitions.
Field separation and terminal layout
- Backplane Barrier: The complete field section withstands 1500 V RMS relative to the PLC bus.
- Bank Separation: Adjacent eight-point groups are isolated from one another at 500 V RMS.
- Terminal Pattern: Forty screw positions carry thirty-two signals plus four line and four neutral connections.
- Cable Restraint: The removable terminal assembly includes a cleat for securing the field-wire bundle.
