Features:
- Converts twenty field inputs to digital data and regulates four analog output channels on one Mark VI VME board.
- Supports simplex or triple modular redundant signal paths through paired TBAI terminal boards.
- Provides a dedicated 200 Hz path on the first four inputs for faster turbine-protection measurements.
Ten inputs and two outputs terminate on each TBAI board, keeping the field-side channel split consistent across the J3 and J4 cable connections.
Loop transmitters may use the terminal board's 24 VDC excitation or an independent supply, so powered and externally powered instruments can share the analog interface.
The exact IS200VAICH1C assembly is listed for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D, T4 locations when it is installed within the approved Mark VI configuration.
For installed-base maintenance, Apter Power can source the General Electric IS200VAICH1C VME Analog Input/Output Board for compatible SPEEDTRONIC Mark VI racks.

Field-interface arrangement
- Terminal-board split: Each TBAI board carries ten analog inputs and two analog outputs.
- Cable paths: J3 and J4 connect the VME board to the two field terminal assemblies.
- Input grouping: Sixteen channels accept standard current or voltage signals, with separate ranges assigned to the remaining four paths.
- Excitation choice: Two-wire transmitters can be powered from the Mark VI 24 VDC source or from an independent supply.
- Redundant routing: A TMR installation fans each field signal to the R, S, and T processor racks.
Filtering and measurement behavior
- Accepted spans: Channel configuration covers 4-20 mA, ±1 mA, ±5 VDC, and ±10 VDC signals.
- J3 filtering: The first cable group uses a single hardware pole at 500 rad/s.
- J4 filtering: The second cable group applies two hardware poles at 72 and 500 rad/s.
- Software selection: Low-pass corner choices are 0, 0.75, 1.5, 3, 6, or 12 Hz.
- Noise rejection: Common-mode rejection is 60 dB for 60 Hz AC and 80 dB for DC.
Fault recognition and isolation
- LED interpretation: RUN flashes green during normal execution, FAIL shows a solid red board fault, and STATUS turns orange for an active board alarm.
- Hardware limits: Exceeding a fixed channel limit sets the composite L3DIAG_VAIC signal and suspends scanning of the affected input.
- System limits: Configurable high and low thresholds may be reset independently through RESET_SYS logic.
- TMR comparison: The voter identifies a channel whose value departs from the other two by more than the configured percentage of span.
- Output supervision: D/A commands, measured current, total current, scaling relays, and the suicide relay are monitored for consistency.
- Hardware identity: A terminal-board catalog or revision mismatch is reported before incompatible field hardware is placed in service.
Compressor-protection use
- LM turbine arrangement: Two compressor-discharge pressure transducers feed the high-speed input group for stall detection.
- Heavy-duty arrangement: Three pressure measurements provide the corresponding detection channels on larger turbine packages.
- Decision variables: The logic evaluates both an absolute PS3 decrease and the rate of pressure change, dPS3dt.
- Protective response: When the configured criteria are met, the board's measurements support trip coordination through the controller and relay outputs.
