Features:
- Provides 16K words of total memory for the SLC 5/05 control application and data.
- Supports up to 4096 inputs and 4096 outputs in a modular SLC 500 system.
- Combines Ethernet and RS-232 communication for programming and data exchange.
1747-L551 is the 16K-word SLC 5/05 processor configuration for a modular 1746 SLC 500 system. It provides Ethernet connectivity for control applications that require access to an industrial network.
The processor scans the stored ladder program, updates the chassis I/O image, and coordinates installed modules through the SLC backplane. Its typical program scan is 0.9 ms/K, and its typical I/O scan is 0.225 ms.
Confirm slot-0 placement, memory and I/O requirements, chassis power capacity, compatible 1746 modules, and matching Ethernet and serial-channel settings before installation.

- 1747-L541 provides 16K words of total memory: 12K words for program or data and 4K words reserved for data.
- The processor supports up to 4096 inputs and 4096 outputs, with a typical program scan time of 0.9 ms/K and a typical I/O scan time of 0.225 ms.
- It supports up to three local chassis and 30 local module slots, with a backplane load of 1.0 A at 5V DC and 200 mA at 24V DC.
- Channel 1 provides an Ethernet interface for programming and data exchange with compatible industrial network devices.
- SLC 5/05 Series A and B processors use fixed 10 Mbps Ethernet operation, while supported Series C firmware adds configurable speed and duplex options.
- For Series C operation, the processor and its Ethernet link partner must use compatible auto-negotiation or matching forced speed and duplex settings.
- Front-panel indicators report processor RUN and FLT states, forced-I/O status, battery condition, Ethernet activity, and serial-channel status.
- RSLogix 500 can display processor status and fault information when 1747-L551 does not enter or remain in RUN mode.
- Ethernet and serial-channel diagnostic information can be used to distinguish processor faults from network or communication-configuration problems.
- The specified operating temperature range is 0 to 60 °C (32 to 140 °F).
- The specified operating relative humidity range is 5 to 95 percent without condensation.
- The modular SLC 500 hardware specification lists vibration acceleration of 2.5 g from 57 to 2,000 Hz.
