Features:
- Combines one module position with 36 IEC box-style terminals.
- Supports up to 32 I/O points plus four common or power connections.
- Joins neighboring carriers to extend the VersaMax backplane path.
The box-terminal format keeps individual conductors in compact front-access clamps while the module remains parallel to the rail.
Point, common, and power assignments depend on the installed I/O type, so wiring should follow its channel arrangement without shifting terminal numbers.
Side connectors continue communication through the station, while the latch and keying controls help preserve correct module placement.
The General Electric IC200CHS002 VersaMax Box I/O Carrier may still be sourced and supported through Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

IEC Conductor Options
- Single Wire: One copper conductor from AWG 14 through AWG 22 fits each terminal.
- Dual Wires: Two conductors may share a point when neither is larger than AWG 18.
- Temperature Grade: Field conductors should use copper insulation rated for 90 degrees Celsius.
- Tightening Range: Each box clamp is secured at 0.37 to 0.45 ft-lb.
Electrical Boundaries
- Point Current: An individual terminal is rated for no more than 2 A.
- Shared Current: Each power or ground position carries up to 8 A.
- Operating Voltage: Field circuits remain within a 264 VAC maximum rating.
- Transient Level: The carrier tolerates a 300 VAC transient limit at its terminals.
Carrier Assembly
- Rail Mount: The base clips onto grounded conductive 7.5 by 35 mm DIN rail.
- Panel Option: Direct fastening provides added retention in high-shock locations.
- Module Control: Keying dials and a latch align the selected I/O unit with the carrier.
- Backplane Join: Side connectors must be fully mated before station power is applied.
Panel Uses
- IEC Cabinets: Box terminals support compact point-to-point wiring in metric-oriented panels.
- Modular Stations: Adjacent carriers create a scalable VersaMax I/O assembly along one rail.
- Mixed Channels: Thirty-six positions accommodate I/O plus the common or power paths required by a module.
- Maintenance Access: The clear cover allows labels and clamp locations to remain visible during checks.
