Features:
- Integrates sixteen 12 VDC inputs and twelve normally open relay outputs.
- Provides RS-232 and RS-485 ports for programming, monitoring and serial networks.
- Adds a time-of-day clock, status LEDs and optional long-term battery backup.
The expanded point count lets General Electric IC200UDR006 handle more switches, proximity sensors, interlocks and externally powered actuators than a 14-point Micro PLC. Input polarity remains selectable for the field scheme.
Port 1 uses RS-232 on an RJ-45 connector, and Port 2 uses RS-485 on a DB-15 connector behind a removable door. Both channels monitor at once, while the project assigns programming and network roles to the appropriate port.
Four removable covered terminal strips organize field conductors, and individual I/O LEDs accompany the Power, OK and Run indicators. The battery holder accepts the optional backup assembly used with RAM and the real-time clock.
The General Electric IC200UDR006 28-Point 12 VDC VersaMax Micro PLC may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Programming and Network Roles
- Port 1: Use the RS-232 RJ-45 interface for programming or SNP slave communication.
- Port 2: Configure the covered RS-485 DB-15 channel for SNP or RTU master/slave operation.
- RTU master support: Use Modbus RTU Master on Port 2 with firmware version 2.02 or later.
- Dual monitoring: Observe the controller through both ports concurrently while reserving programming for one channel.
Retention and Clock Support
- Capacitor reserve: RAM and the time-of-day clock retain data for at least 30 minutes without input power.
- Battery extension: Fit the optional lithium assembly when longer powered-down retention is necessary.
- Condition reporting: Read the PLC fault table and designated status bits for battery-state information.
- Flash source: Store configuration or application data in non-volatile flash for power-up loading.
Status and Field Checks
- CPU indicators: Use Power, OK and Run LEDs to identify the controller operating state.
- Point indicators: Compare each I/O LED with the wired device and the corresponding program reference.
- Input isolation: Field inputs are isolated from logic and separated into groups according to the wiring diagram.
- Covered terminals: After isolating power, remove a terminal assembly with its field wiring still attached.
Expanded Compact Control
- Multi-device sequencing: Sixteen inputs and twelve relay outputs coordinate larger compact machines.
- Mixed-voltage actuation: Relay contacts switch suitable AC or DC starters, solenoids and indicators.
- Serial supervision: Two ports connect programming tools and compatible serial equipment around one CPU.
- Timed operation: The integrated clock supports schedules and time-based controller logic.
