More Information

Overview Manuals HART Integration Power Selection System Compatibility Application
  • Use FBM214E only where the Compact 16-channel HART architecture is required
  • Select RH101RT for external loop power or RH101RY for FBM auxiliary loop power
  • Confirm Control Core Services v9.5 or later before commissioning

Foxboro FBM214E is the functional designation for a Compact 16-channel HART communication input interface.

The current module order number is RH101RP; RH101RT and RH101RY identify different termination assemblies, not substitute module numbers.

Before replacement, confirm the exact module label, TA power arrangement, field-loop design, baseplate position and saved HART device configuration.

Availability, condition, price, and shipping time for FBM214E are confirmed during quotation.

  • Sixteen 4–20 mA channels support HART communication
  • One field device is supported per internally powered channel
  • Device diagnostics remain available through the control-system tools
  • RH101RT is used for customer-supplied external loop power
  • RH101RY uses the FBM auxiliary 24 VDC source
  • TA choice must match grounding and loop-power architecture
  • The module requires a Compact 200 Series baseplate
  • Control Core Services v9.5 or later is documented
  • Fieldbus communication uses the redundant 2 Mbps Module Fieldbus
  • HART-enabled process transmitter input
  • Centralized 4–20 mA measurement with field-device diagnostics
  • Compact DCS analog input migration using the documented FBM214E TA
Description
Foxboro FBM214E receives 4–20 mA process signals and exchanges HART data with up to sixteen supported field devices.

The module isolates its input group from module logic and ground while the matching TA determines whether loop power comes from an external supply or the FBM auxiliary 24 VDC source.

It supports process measurement together with HART diagnostics and configuration in Compact 200 Series installations using compatible Control Core Services software.

Technical notes
FBM214E is an official functional designation, while RH101RP is the current exact module order number. Do not enter RH101RY as the module; RH101RY is the internal-power termination assembly.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Which exact module should be supplied when a customer requests Foxboro FBM214E?
Confirm the label and quotation against RH101RP, the official current module part number, and identify the required termination assembly separately.
Can Foxboro FBM214E power every connected HART transmitter internally?
Only with the documented RH101RY internal-power TA and within its loop limits. Externally powered loops use RH101RT instead.
Can Foxboro FBM214E be installed in a standard 200 Series modular baseplate?
No. The official module mounts on a Compact 200 Series 16-slot horizontal baseplate, so the platform must be checked before replacement.
Why can Foxboro FBM214E show current but no HART communication?
Check the TA type, loop resistance, field-device HART support, polarity, wiring quality, channel configuration and the device diagnostic status.
Does Foxboro FBM214E isolate every channel from every other channel?
No. The channels are isolated as a group from ground and module logic, not individually from one another, so common-mode and grounding design still matter.
Which HART configuration records should be saved before removing Foxboro FBM214E?
Save channel scaling, HART device assignments, diagnostics, alarm configuration, TA power arrangement, slot location and the current Control Core Services database.
How should Foxboro FBM214E be recommissioned?
Verify loop current and HART communication on each channel, compare device tags and diagnostics with the backup, then prove alarms and control actions under controlled conditions.
