Features:
- The ATD420W controller manages machine-tool protective-door movement through SIDOOR motor and power components.
- Four isolated inputs, two relay outputs, RS485 and PROFIBUS connect control signals and plant communication.
- Mechanical limits cover opening width, door mass, cycle rate, counterforce and kinetic energy.
The 36 V DC supply path powers the control electronics and the approved SIDOOR motor arrangement.
A protected 24 V DC output supports connected sensing circuits without permitting an external backfeed.
Horizontal mounting outside a control cabinet and protection from direct solar radiation preserve the documented installation conditions.
The Siemens 6FB1141-2AT10-3WE2 SIDOOR ATD420W Door Control Device may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

How power and control signals are separated
- Supply Path: The controller accepts 19.2 to 38 V DC from the documented SIDOOR or SITOP supply arrangement.
- Input Group: Four isolated p-switching inputs receive 10 to 28 V high-state commands.
- Relay Pair: Two contacts switch 0.01 to 0.5 A loads at 30 V DC.
- Auxiliary Output: The protected 24 V DC path supplies up to 400 mA and must not be externally energized.
Mechanical limits for the configured door
- Travel Range: The documented opening width extends from 0.3 to 5 m.
- Door Mass: The configured door must remain at or below 600 kg.
- Cycle Rate: Repeated operation is limited to 180 opening cycles per hour.
- Force Boundary: Counterforce and kinetic energy remain within 75 N and 100 J respectively.
Communication paths used by the controller
- PROFIBUS Interface: The fieldbus connection follows IEC 61784-3 and supports up to 32 nodes.
- RS485 Path: The serial interface provides the local SIDOOR communication channel.
- Input Status: Isolated digital commands enter the controller independently of the relay output circuit.
- Output Status: Relay contacts present plant-level switching without combining their load circuit with the 24 V auxiliary output.
Environmental and mounting conditions
- Mounting Position: Installation outside a control cabinet is permitted only in the horizontal position.
- Solar Exposure: Direct sunlight must not reach the installed controller.
- Ambient Range: Operating temperature extends from -20 to 50 degrees C without condensation.
- Enclosure Level: IP20 protection requires the final machine installation to provide the remaining environmental protection.
