Features:
- Connects a SIMATIC ET 200M station to PROFINET IO through two integrated ports.
- Supplies the module backplane and coordinates as many as twelve S7-300 modules.
- Supports MRP, Shared Device and IRT high-performance communication functions.
The two Ethernet ports combine network forwarding with access to the ET 200M backplane.
Controller ownership and topology configuration determine how advanced PROFINET functions operate.
The ST order code sets compatibility limits that exclude F, HART and H-system redundant configurations.
The Siemens 6ES7153-4AA01-0XB0 PROFINET Interface Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Two-Port Network Path
- Port pair: X1 P1 and X1 P2 form the integrated PROFINET switch.
- Line routing: One port can receive the network while the other continues it to the next device.
- Redundancy: Both interfaces participate in a configured Media Redundancy Protocol ring.
- Port evidence: LINK and RX/TX indicators separate physical connection from frame activity.
Controller Ownership
- Submodule split: Two IO controllers can own different modules within one ET 200M station.
- RUN condition: Both controllers remain in RUN for their configured outputs to operate normally.
- Program handling: OB83, OB85 and OB122 cover station changes and access events.
- Engineering rule: Each submodule is assigned to the intended controller only once.
Isochronous Communication Setup
- Operating mode: The interface supports IRT high-performance communication.
- Topology requirement: Every physical port connection is entered in the project.
- Schedule basis: The configured path lets the controller calculate deterministic transfer timing.
- Mismatch result: Incorrect topology prevents the planned IRT relationship from being established.
Station-Scope Boundaries
- Module count: One 6ES7153-4AA01-0XB0 manages up to twelve S7-300 modules.
- Address area: The station supports 192 input bytes and 192 output bytes.
- Excluded I/O: F modules and HART modules are outside the ST version's supported scope.
- Redundant control: H-system CPU redundancy is not provided by this interface variant.
