Features:
- The SP23.5 supply converts selectable 115/230 V AC input for the SIMADYN D SR12.4 rack.
- Separate test sockets expose the 5 V, +15 V and -15 V output rails for checks.
- Front indicators distinguish normal output operation from monitored supply faults.
The SP23.5 unit occupies the power-supply position of the SR12.4 rather than one of its function-module slots.
Its line connection, monitoring relay, battery connection and reset input are divided among connectors X1 through X4.
A protective conductor at X1 and the documented fanless rack arrangement define the enclosure-side installation work.

How the supply joins the SR12.4 backplane
- Power Position: The SP23.5 occupies the dedicated supply location at the left side of the subrack.
- Rail Distribution: Its regulated outputs enter the L-bus and C-bus used by the installed function modules.
- Rack Selection: The 115/230 V AC version belongs to the SR12.4 arrangement without the integral fan assembly.
- Module Slots: The twelve rack positions remain assigned to SIMADYN D function modules rather than the power unit.
What the front signals reveal
- Green Indication: The green signal is present when the regulated outputs are within their monitored limits.
- Red Indication: A monitored input or output fault changes the front fault indication.
- Test Access: Three sockets allow the 5 V and both 15 V rails to be checked separately.
- Relay Output: X2 transfers the monitoring state to an external circuit without carrying the rack supply current.
Separate paths for line power and control
- X1 Line Entry: Phase, neutral and protective earth terminate at the three-pole supply connector.
- X2 Status Path: The four-pin monitoring connection provides the external relay contacts.
- X3 Backup Path: The two-pin battery input connects an external backup source for the rack memory function.
- X4 Reset Path: The remaining two-pin connection accepts the external reset signal for the subrack.
Conditions that govern rack energization
- Input Selection: The voltage selector must correspond to the connected 115 V or 230 V AC supply before energization.
- Line Protection: The internal F601 fuse protects the incoming supply path and uses the documented time-delay high-breaking-capacity type.
- Output Supervision: A rail outside its permitted limit can remove the rack outputs instead of leaving an uncontrolled supply state.
- Cooling Arrangement: The SP23.5 version is specified with the SR12.4 cabinet airflow arrangement rather than a supply-mounted fan.
