Features:
- Four channel groups accept eight thermocouples or four RTD/resistance circuits.
- Selectable interference suppression changes conversion time and resolution together.
- Backplane power, diagnostics and galvanic separation connect the field measurements to PCS 7.
Sensor voltage or resistance enters the assigned two-channel group.
The module converts the selected range according to its interference-suppression setting.
The resulting value and diagnostic state pass through the ET 200PA SMART backplane to the controller.

Assigning sensors across four paired input groups
- Thermocouple mode: Each group carries two thermocouple or low-voltage channels.
- RTD mode: One resistance sensor uses both positions in its group.
- Excitation path: The paired channel supplies measurement current for resistance mode.
- Parameter scope: Measurement type and range are assigned per channel group.
Balancing interference rejection, update time and resolution
- 400 Hz: Conversion takes 2.5 ms with 9 bits plus sign.
- 60 or 50 Hz: Line-frequency rejection uses 12 bits plus sign.
- 10 Hz: Conversion takes 100 ms with 15 bits plus sign.
- Result path: The selected mode applies to the configured group measurement.
Matching the input circuit to voltage, thermocouple and resistance sources
- Millivolt inputs: Ranges extend from ±25 mV through ±500 mV.
- One-volt input: A separate ±1 V range is available.
- Thermocouples: Types T, U, E, J, L, K, N, R, S and B are listed.
- RTD and resistance: Pt100, Pt200, Ni100 and 150/300/600 Ω ranges use the group excitation path.
Returning field faults without joining sensor circuits to the backplane
- Backplane supply: The module draws 5 V and requires no external 24 V source.
- Isolation: The measurement circuitry remains separated from the system bus.
- Diagnostics: Configured channel and module faults are reported to the controller.
- Process interrupt: A programmed measurement event can trigger the assigned interrupt.
