More Information

Overview Manuals Relay Channels Contact Ratings Switching Practice Power & Indication

Features:

  • Provides eight individually isolated normally open relay contacts.
  • Switches supported AC or DC circuits from one VersaMax position.
  • Displays every output command with a dedicated point LED.
General Electric IC200MDL930 provides eight individually isolated Form A contacts, so each channel can use its own field reference instead of a shared common. A contact remains normally open until the host CPU is active and its output bit is set.

External sources power the field loads, allowing the module to switch supported AC and DC circuits from the same VersaMax position. Resistive loads permit up to 2.0 A through 30 VDC or across the specified AC range, while 31 to 125 VDC circuits use a 0.2 A limit.

A dedicated logic-side LED follows each output command, and the OK indicator confirms backplane power. Because the LEDs do not prove that field voltage reaches the load, the external supply and contact wiring should be checked separately.

The General Electric IC200MDL930 VersaMax Relay Output Module may be available with product matching and support from Apter Power.

Contact Arrangement

  • Contact Form: Eight normally open Form A outputs are provided.
  • Circuit Separation: Every output is isolated from the other seven channels.
  • Closing Logic: A relay closes when the CPU is active and its output bit is one.
  • Field Energy: External supplies provide all load power.

Supported Load Classes

  • AC Window: Resistive contacts switch 5 to 265 VAC at up to 2.0 A.
  • Low DC Range: Resistive circuits from 5 to 30 VDC allow up to 2.0 A.
  • High DC Range: The resistive limit from 31 to 125 VDC is 0.2 A.
  • Minimum Current: Each operating load should draw at least 10 mA.
  • Contact Drop: Closed-contact voltage drop is 0.3 V maximum.

Relay Operation

  • Operate Time: Both ON and OFF response are 10 ms maximum.
  • Inductive Duty: The specified switching frequency is 20 cycles per minute for inductive loads.
  • Arc Control: Coils and other inductive devices need external suppression.
  • Protection Scope: Branch fuses and snubbers are not built into the module.

Module Power and Status

  • Backplane Source: VersaMax backplane power operates the module.
  • Variable Drain: Five-volt current rises as additional relays energize.
  • Point Feedback: Green logic-side LEDs report each channel command.
  • Module Health: The OK LED confirms the presence of backplane power.
  • Isolation Test: Point-to-point isolation is rated 250 VAC continuously and 1500 VAC for one minute.
Description
Where field circuits use different references, General Electric IC200MDL930 provides a relay contact interface between the VersaMax controller and the connected equipment. Each channel can therefore switch its own circuit without forcing every load onto one shared common.

The moving-armature relay behaves as a physical open contact when it is de-energized. This characteristic is useful with devices that could react to the small off-state leakage normally associated with solid-state outputs.

Mechanical contacts make the module a practical choice for ordinary on/off commands rather than rapid repetitive switching. Inductive loads should be cycled within the manual's published frequency limits to reduce stress on the contacts.

General Electric IC200MDL930 has no internal fuses or snubbers. External branch protection and suppression should be selected for the actual load, while an approved shorting bar may be used only where a carrier connection intentionally needs a commoned terminal path.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
When is General Electric IC200MDL930 preferable to a grouped solid-state output module?
General Electric IC200MDL930 is preferable when eight field circuits require individual isolation or when a mix of supported AC and DC voltages must be switched by dry relay contacts.
Why does a General Electric IC200MDL930 point LED not confirm field voltage at the load?
The LEDs on General Electric IC200MDL930 are driven by logic and indicate the commanded relay state. Verify the external load supply, contact wiring and field fuse separately.
How should inductive loads be handled on General Electric IC200MDL930?
Fit external suppression appropriate to the load connected to General Electric IC200MDL930. The module contains neither snubbers nor output fuses, so both suppression and protection are field-design responsibilities.
What causes a General Electric IC200MDL930 contact to close?
A General Electric IC200MDL930 Form A contact closes only while the host CPU is active and the corresponding output logic bit equals one. Loss of the command opens the normally open contact.
Can General Electric IC200MDL930 channels share different field references?
Yes. Each General Electric IC200MDL930 output is individually isolated, so channels may switch separately referenced circuits provided every contact remains within its voltage and current ratings.
How can relay wear be reduced when using General Electric IC200MDL930?
Keep General Electric IC200MDL930 loads within the resistive or inductive limits, suppress coils, and avoid unnecessary rapid cycling. The specified inductive switching rate is 20 cycles per minute.
