Features:
- AADVANCE WORKBENCH 2 engineering platform provides IEC 61131-3 programming for Trusted TMR safety systems
- Supports triple-modular redundancy configuration with fault detection, analog/digital I/O, and Modbus communication
- Integrates with T8300, T8310, and T8151B processors for comprehensive safety system engineering and maintenance
The T9087 serves as the primary engineering tool for the ICS Triplex Trusted safety system family. As the AADVANCE WORKBENCH 2 platform, it provides a unified environment for developing, testing, and deploying safety logic across TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) controllers . The platform supports all five IEC 61131-3 programming languages: ladder logic for discrete control, function block diagrams for process control, structured text for complex algorithms, sequential function charts for batch processes, and instruction list for legacy support.
The T9087 engineering platform is specifically designed to configure and manage TMR fault-tolerant architectures for safety-critical applications. TMR technology uses three independent processor channels running in parallel with 2oo3 (two-out-of-three) voting, ensuring that no single component failure can compromise system operation . The T9087 enables engineers to configure this voting logic, set diagnostic parameters, and establish fault detection thresholds. The platform supports analog signal processing (4-20 mA, 0-10 V) and digital signal control (24V DC), making it suitable for diverse field device integration .
The T9087 workbench is designed to work seamlessly with the complete ICS Triplex Trusted hardware ecosystem, including T8300 and T8310 processor base units, T8151B processors, T8431 communication modules, and various I/O modules such as T9401 (digital input), T9451 (digital output), T9431 (analog input), and T9481 (analog output) . The T9087 platform also manages communication configuration for Modbus RTU and TCP/IP protocols, enabling integration with distributed control systems (DCS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) platforms .
The T9087 ICS TRIPLEX AADvance Workbench 2 may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond
End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) & Emergency Shutdown (ESD): Designing millisecond-accurate emergency isolation, pressure letdown, and processing shutdown logics to protect lives and plant infrastructure during critical failures.
- Fire and Gas Systems (F&G): Setting up complex voting logic (e.g., 2oo3 - Two-Out-Of-Three) for flame, toxic gas, and combustible gas detectors, while linking them to safety active-deluge outputs and ventilation dampening.
- Burner Management Systems (BMS): Developing rigorous pre-purge sequences, fuel gas safety shutoff valve interlocks, and precise flame-monitoring timing sequences for utility boilers and process furnaces.
- Turbomachinery Control (TMC): Configuring safety thresholds and overspeed trip metrics for utility steam turbines, heavy-duty gas turbines, and critical centrifugal compressors.
- Integrated Firmware Library: The software install package embeds a suite of safety-validated firmware images. When an engineering project is opened, Workbench automatically cross-checks hardware compatibility against the firmware definitions in the active project.
- On-line and Off-line Flashing:During commissioning or plant outages, engineers use the built-in control flash/maintenance wizard within T9087 to push updated firmware directly to the controller chassis via Ethernet.
- TÜV Safety Compliance & Vulnerability Patches: All firmware upgrades deployed through T9087 must strictly align with Rockwell's Safety Manual guidelines.
- Chassis Representation: Engineers drag and drop visual representations of the T9100 processor bases and T9300 I/O bases within the software to build an exact digital twin of the physical control cabinets.
- Flexible Redundancy Mapping: Channels and modules can be independently mapped as Single (simplex), Dual, or Triple Modular Redundant (TMR). The underlying compilation compiler automatically generates the complex signal-voting and diagnostic logic required for the selected configuration.
- Field Parameter Tuning: Defines operational thresholds per channel, including line monitoring (short circuit and open wire detection for field lines), digital filtering times, and analog 4-20mA out-of-range limits.
