Features:
- Critical Processing Core for Trusted TMR Safety Systems
- Integrates Triple Modular Redundant Architecture with Battery-Backed Memory Retention
- Functions as the Central Processing Unit Within ICS Triplex Trusted Controller Platforms
The ICS Triplex T9110 Processor Module serves as the primary processing engine in a Trusted TMR rack, executing safety-critical control logic with high-integrity fault tolerance. It continuously performs triple modular redundant processing of application programs, with automatic synchronization and voting across three independent channels to ensure deterministic and reliable operation. Seamless execution is standard with the T9110, and the integrated battery backup system maintains the internal Real Time Clock (RTC) and critical volatile memory (RAM) content when primary rack power is removed. The T9110 incorporates significant advancements in processing reliability over previous processor designs, including dedicated battery preservation capabilities within the Trusted architecture.
The T9110 provides essential processing functions common to the entire safety system, and is a critical component of the control path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall safety instrumented system. One or three T9110 processor modules are typically deployed per rack depending on the desired TMR configuration and redundancy level. The T9110 occupies a dedicated processor slot in the rack and interfaces directly with the T9100 Processor Base Unit through precision coding pegs and rear-panel sockets.
For complete TMR applications, the Trusted System requires multiple T9110 processor modules installed in the redundant processor slots. In addition to standard processing operations, the redundant configuration performs continuous cross-channel voting and comparison. The T9110 triple modular configuration executes fault detection using the internal synchronization circuitry specified in the processor architecture. Using this method, the redundant processing system continually monitors the health of all three channels. If the system detects that one T9110 processor channel is no longer providing consistent output (outside configured tolerance levels or experiencing internal faults), it will automatically continue operation on the remaining healthy channels, flag the discrepancy for maintenance attention, and maintain safety function availability without interruption.
The T9110 ICS Triplex Processor Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
