Features:
- T9090M is AADvance-Trusted SIS Workstation software version 2.00.x for configuring safety controllers.
- Affected versions 2.00.00-2.00.04 may reset I/O equipment settings to default values during archive restore.
- Workaround requires performing "Get Version" command; correction requires software update from Rockwell Automation PCDC.
The T9090M is part of the AADvance-Trusted SIS Workstation (SISW) family, a software platform used to configure, program, and maintain AADvance safety controllers certified for IEC 61508 SIL 2 and SIL 3 applications. This engineering tool supports the development of safety logic for emergency shutdown (ESD) systems, fire and gas (F&G) detection, burner management systems (BMS), and critical process control. The software provides the interface for setting up I/O modules, defining raw-engineering conversion values, establishing threshold limits, and configuring safety parameters such as Process Safety Time.
A Product Notice (Reference: 2025-03-002, Version 2.0, May 2025) identifies a specific anomaly affecting T9090M versions 2.00.x. When performing certain actions—restoring a project from an archive (.vsc) file, opening a project from source control when the project is not present in the projects folder, or getting a deleted controller from source control using "Get Version"—the software may reset I/O Equipment configurations to default values. The affected settings include raw-engineering conversion values (e.g., 4-20 mA scaling), threshold values (high/low alarm limits), the Process Safety Time "Inherit" checkbox, and Battery Alarm/Remote Fault Reset configurations.
Rockwell Automation has provided a temporary workaround for T9090M users while a permanent software fix is developed. After performing any of the triggering actions, the user must select the desired project version and perform a "Get Version" command via File > Version Control > View History. This action restores the correct I/O Equipment configuration values from version control. The workaround must be applied each time the triggering actions are performed. For users who import database files (.mdb, .accdb) instead of archive (.vsc) files, the anomaly does not occur.
The T9090M ICS TRIPLEX Software may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond
End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD): Initiating rapid, automated shut-offs when critical process loops (pressure, temperature, flow) breach safe operating limits.
- Fire and Gas Systems (F&G): Monitoring flame, smoke, and toxic/combustible gas detectors to trigger active mitigation and localized alarms.
- Burner Management Systems (BMS): Ensuring safe start-up, operation, and rapid fuel isolation for industrial boilers, furnaces, and thermal oxidizers.
- Critical Process Control (PRC): Managing environments that cannot afford a loss of control or unexpected downtime, such as offshore oil platforms, nuclear power generation, and chemical synthesis.
- I/O Channel Diagnostics: Tracks raw engineering variables across fields and monitors for short circuits, line breakage, and out-of-bounds voltage anomalies down to the specific module channel.
- Process Safety Time Validation: Supports safety loop configurations (such as inheriting channel parameters) to guarantee the execution speed matches the plant’s required safety windows.
- Locked Variables Window: Features a dedicated tracking monitor for bypassed or forced values. This alerts operators to any human interventions that could unintentionally disable safety interlocks during live tuning.
- OS Compatibility: Intended for deployment on Windows 10 Enterprise workstation environments.
- Legacy Paths: T9090M (SISW) serves as the official modern programming environment designed to phase out the legacy AADvance Workbench (T908x series).
- Version Upgrades: Migrating architectures across major milestones (such as from SISW 1.x to SISW 2.x) demands a corresponding Upgrade License.
- Licensing Core: SISW v1.1 and beyond relies on standard FactoryTalk Activation mechanics, making it incompatible with older Workbench legacy serial strings.
