Features:
- T9193 provides SIL 2/SIL 3 safety certification with 1oo1D, 1oo2D, and 2oo3D fault-tolerant architectures.
- Supports 48 I/O modules including digital, analog input, digital output, and analog output types.
- Redundant 24V DC power with ±1.5 kV isolation; operates -25°C to +70°C with conformal coating.
The T9193 AADvance controller is purpose-built for functional safety applications requiring certification to IEC 61508. Depending on the processor and I/O module configuration, the system achieves SIL 2 or SIL 3 integrity levels. The controller supports three distinct safety architectures: 1oo1D (one-out-of-one with diagnostics) for fail-safe applications; 1oo2D (one-out-of-two with diagnostics) for dual fault-tolerant configurations where a single failure does not cause loss of safety function; and 2oo3D (two-out-of-three with diagnostics) for triple fault-tolerant architectures requiring maximum availability.
The T9193 controller supports up to 48 I/O modules, each available in 8 or 16 channel configurations. Compatible modules include the T9401/T9402 24V DC digital input modules, T9431/T9432 analog input modules, T9451 digital output modules, and T9481/T9482 analog output modules. The controller delivers deterministic scan performance: digital input modules scan in 0.924 ms (simplex), 1.676 ms (dual), or 2.453 ms (triple); analog input modules scan in 1.170 ms (simplex), 1.965 ms (dual), or 2.656 ms (triple); digital output modules scan in 1.174 ms (simplex) or 2.202 ms (dual); analog output modules scan in 0.981 ms (simplex) or 1.761 ms (dual).
The T9193 AADvance controller is engineered for deployment in harsh industrial and hazardous environments. All AADvance modules—including processors, I/O modules, termination assemblies, and backplanes—receive conformal coating during manufacture. This coating meets US MIL-I-46058C and IPC-CC-830 standards, is UL approved, and provides protection against moisture, dust, and chemical contaminants. For hazardous area installations, the T9193 is certified for Class I Division 2 Groups A, B, C, and D locations.
The T9193 ICS TRIPLEX Blanking Covers Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Oil & Gas (Upstream/Downstream): Offshore drilling platforms, gas processing plants, and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems where spare capacity is reserved for future expansion.
- Petrochemical & Chemical Refining: Critical reaction loop cabinets and safety instrumented systems (SIS) that control safety-critical valves and interlocks.
- Power Generation: Nuclear and thermal power plants within Boiler Management Systems (BMS) and turbine overspeed protection networks.
- Critical Infrastructure: Compressors, LNG trains, and large air separation plants where unexpected downtime carries massive economic or safety risks.
- Slot Connectivity: It plugs seamlessly into T9300 series I/O Base Units (Backplanes). It is secured using an integrated heavy-duty mechanical latch that resists extreme vibrations up to standard industrial ratings, preventing mechanical loosening.
- Backplane Signal Shielding: The AADvance system relies on high-speed internal buses (using the Secure Network Control Protocol - SNCP) running across the base unit. An empty, exposed slot acts as an antenna for Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).
- Galvanic Protection: It acts as a non-conductive cover over the un-mated backplane pins, ensuring no accidental short circuits can occur from dropped screws, metallic dust, or moisture.
- Preventing Spurious Trips: High-density AADvance I/O modules generate significant localized heat. If a slot is left uncovered, the internal cabinet forced airflow will shortcut through the path of least resistance (the empty slot), starving adjacent running modules of cool air.
- SIL 2 / SIL 3 Audit Compliance: According to the official AADvance Safety Manual, using genuine blanking covers (like the T9193) on all unpopulated positions is an explicit requirement to maintain the hardware fault tolerance and enclosure ingress protection (IP) ratings during regulatory safety audits.
- Flame Retardancy: Constructed from premium, halogen-free UL 94-V0 rated flame-retardant engineered plastics (or reinforced anodized aluminum in ruggedized variants) that do not support combustion or release toxic fumes under extreme heat.
