Features:
- Provides Secure Coverage For Unused Power Pack Slots To Maintain System Integrity
- Ensures Electromagnetic Shielding And Balanced Airflow Across The Power Shelf
- Features Durable High-Strength Industrial Plastic With Superior Flame Retardancy
The Rockwell ICS Triplex Trusted T8235 is a high-quality power supply slot cover engineered for Trusted® high-integrity computing platforms. It protects empty power pack positions while ensuring optimal airflow and shielding within the power shelf. Compared to earlier models, it offers enhanced material strength and improved resistance to industrial conditions.
Designed to work with 1U Power Shelves that house up to three 750 W Power Packs, the T8235 supports configurations delivering up to 2250 W of total power or 1500 W with n+1 redundancy. Its precise fit helps maintain accurate diagnostics from the Power Port, preventing interference and supporting system reliability even in stacked Power Shelf setups.
The T8235 is built from high-strength PC/ABS industrial plastic compliant with UL 94 V-0 standards. It withstands harsh environmental conditions, including vibration, humidity, and temperature variations, outperforming older covers like T8230 or T8232. Its robust design ensures long-term protection and dependable performance for high-density Trusted® Power Systems.
The T8235 Rockwell ICS Triplex Power Shield may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Thermodynamic Efficiency Optimization: Its core function is airflow blocking. In a forced-air-cooled Trusted power supply rack, it blocks empty slots, forcing cooling airflow through adjacent active power modules (such as the T8230), preventing airflow short circuits that could lead to localized overheating.
- System Availability Assurance: By maintaining rack internal pressure and electromagnetic continuity, it indirectly reduces the probability of false alarms caused by electromagnetic interference (EMI) or overheating, improving the stability of redundant power supply systems.
- Installation Efficiency: Utilizes a plug-in design, equipped with the same quick-locking handle as standard power modules, supporting tool-free rapid installation in hot-swappable environments.
- Conformal Coating: Possesses G3-level corrosion resistance (compliant with ANSI/ISA-S71.04 standards), capable of withstanding hydrogen sulfide and chlorine corrosion commonly found in chemical plants and oil refineries.
- Wide operating temperature range: Rated operating temperature is -20°C to +70°C, and storage temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
- Mechanical resistance: Complies with IEC 60068-2-6 vibration standard, capable of withstanding continuous mechanical stress in industrial environments, ensuring the locking mechanism remains secure.
- Flame retardancy: The housing is made of high-strength industrial polymer, meeting UL 94 V-0 flame retardant standards.
- Non-full-load power supply racks: When configuring N+1 redundant power supplies (e.g., a rack with 3 slots but only 2 T8230 modules installed), a T8235 must be inserted into an empty slot to complete the physical structure.
- System commissioning and maintenance: When a power module is removed for maintenance due to a fault, and no spare power module is available for immediate replacement, a T8235 must be inserted to temporarily maintain internal cooling pressure and electromagnetic shielding.
- Hazardous area deployment: Widely used in offshore oil platforms, natural gas processing plants and nuclear power control rooms, and other locations with extremely high requirements for functional safety and physical integrity.
