Overview Manuals Applications Communication & Connectivity Interoperability Configuration

Features:

  • Combines four RS-232/RS-485 serial interfaces with two copper Ethernet ports.
  • Supports 10/100BaseT networking through RJ-45 connectors.
  • Carries TriStation, Modbus, TSAA, SNTP and peer-to-peer communication services.
The selected TCM is the copper-network 4351A configuration rather than the fiber-optic 4352 family.

It connects engineering stations, Modbus devices, time sources and peer Tricon controllers through defined protocol mappings.

Slot selection must respect the two-logical-slot limit, model-pairing rules, port assignments and controller system version.

Availability is subject to Apter Power inventory and sourcing confirmation.

  • Links a Tricon controller to copper Ethernet plant networks and engineering workstations.
  • Provides Modbus master or slave paths through network and serial interfaces.
  • Distributes controller data and time information through TSAA, SNTP and peer-to-peer services.
  • Four DB-9 ports can be configured for RS-232 or RS-485 serial communication.
  • Two RJ-45 copper interfaces provide 10/100BaseT Ethernet connectivity.
  • Serial links operate at up to 115.2 Kbps while the network interfaces support 10 or 100 Mbps.
  • Supported services include TriStation, Modbus, TCP/IP, ICMP, SNTP, TSAA and peer-to-peer communication.
  • Protocol assignment allows engineering workstations, supervisory hosts and compatible controllers to share the module interfaces.
  • Jet Direct support provides the documented network printing service where that function is configured.
  • Each serial port is assigned its electrical mode, protocol and communication settings for the connected device.
  • A Tricon system supports up to four communication modules distributed across two logical slots.
  • Different TCM models cannot share one logical slot, and this module does not support a hot spare.
Description
Triconex 3723X combines thirty-two commoned analog input channels with HART pass-through for Tricon CX systems. It carries the primary process measurement and the associated digital device information through the controller's supported interface path. The combined port set allows one communication position to bridge established serial equipment and plant Ethernet infrastructure without moving control execution outside the Tricon platform.

This arrangement is useful where operations and maintenance teams need both analog values and access to intelligent field-instrument data. The module integrates those needs without changing the TMR acquisition role of the controller I/O. Engineering access, data exchange and supervisory visibility can therefore coexist on documented interfaces while remaining governed by the controller's configured communication services.

Field connection options vary with the selected external termination components. Two-wire, three-wire and nonincendive installations must use the correct termination panel, FET connector and cable arrangement for the engineered HART path. A clear record of those dependencies helps prevent loss of engineering access or host data after maintenance and supports an orderly return of each connected service.

Technical notes
4351A has no TCM hot-spare function; map every Ethernet and serial service before replacement because removing the module interrupts its assigned paths.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Which thermocouple capabilities make 4351A a distinct input module?
Its copper 10/100BaseT interfaces distinguish it from the fiber TCM configurations while retaining four serial ports.
How should the sensor and cold-junction hardware be paired with 4351A?
Confirm the controller version, logical-slot plan, adjacent TCM model and every assigned network or serial service.
What temperature-monitoring duties benefit from 4351A?
It integrates Tricon data with engineering stations, Modbus devices, time sources and peer controllers.
How are condition and delivery for 4351A checked before an outage?
Apter Power checks exact revision, condition, quantity and required delivery window for each request.
Which temperature-channel settings must survive a 4351A replacement?
Document IP addresses, serial parameters, protocol roles, slot pairing and outage consequences because the TCM is not hot-spared.
What should a purchaser send when requesting the 4351A manual and quote?
Provide the system version, slot location, port map, current TCM label, requested condition and destination.
