More Information

Overview Manuals Applications Performance Efficiency Diagnostics

Features:

  • Accepts 120 VAC or DC-class input power for a Tricon chassis.
  • Delivers 175 W of regulated 6.5 VDC logic power at 60 °C.
  • Supports redundant power-module installation with onboard health indicators.
The model is the 8310 high-density supply for 120 VAC/VDC installations rather than the 24 or 230 volt variants.

It feeds the chassis logic bus and reports internal thermal, alarm and battery-related conditions.

Input range, fuse type, conductor size, earth connection and worst-case rack wattage must be validated before energization.

Availability is subject to Apter Power inventory and sourcing confirmation.

  • Powers Tricon main chassis carrying processors, communication modules and I/O.
  • Provides a redundant logic-power source in expansion or RXM chassis assemblies.
  • Replaces an installed 8310 when the incoming 120 V supply and total rack load remain unchanged.
  • The module provides 175 W output at 60 °C with a 27 A maximum output-current rating.
  • Regulated output is 6.5 VDC within ±1% across the stated operating conditions.
  • Minimum input power available to each supply must be 240 W.
  • Dual installation shares the operational power demand while maintaining redundancy.
  • A twenty-millisecond minimum hold time supports the logic bus through brief input interruptions.
  • Power-budget calculations should use the published consumption of every populated module.
  • PASS and FAULT indicators display the internal supply health state.
  • ALARM and TEMP indicators warn of chassis or excessive-temperature conditions.
  • The BAT LOW indication reports the monitored backup-battery condition.
Description
Triconex 8310 converts an 85–140 VAC or 95–180 VDC source into regulated logic power for a Tricon chassis. The module is rated for 175 W output at the manual's 60 °C design condition. The high-density supply accepts the documented 120 VAC or DC input ranges and produces regulated 6.5 VDC logic power for supported Tricon chassis.

Two power modules can be installed for redundant operation, allowing the controller load to remain supported if one source path is lost. Front indicators report pass, fault, alarm, temperature and low-battery conditions. A 175 W output rating at the upper operating temperature, together with hold-up energy and redundant installation, supports continuous controller operation.

Calculate the complete rack demand under the single-supply worst case and confirm the five-amp time-delay fuse, input wiring and protective earth. Model 8310 voltage limits must not be confused with the 24 VDC 8311 or 230 VAC 8312 versions. Alarm contacts and PASS, FAULT, ALARM, TEMP and BAT LOW indicators provide distinct maintenance signals for source, thermal and backup-power conditions.

Technical notes
8310 selection requires a full single-module chassis load calculation at 60 °C and verification of the 120 VAC/VDC input and five-amp time-delay protection.
