Features:
- The encoder combines 13-bit single-turn position with a 12-bit revolution count.
- Two D-coded M12 ports provide a 100 Mbit/s PROFINET IO network path.
- Link and Data LEDs separately indicate the state of each network port.
TR Electronic CEV58M-00337 retains absolute position across 4096 revolutions instead of resetting its revolution count after one shaft turn.
The separate A-coded supply connector powers CEV58M-00337 from 11–27 V DC without using the two D-coded data connectors as a power path.
Its flange, shaft, radial connector direction, IP65 enclosure, and operating-temperature limit define the mechanical and environmental form of CEV58M-00337.
The TR Electronic CEV58M-00337 PROFINET IO Absolute Multiturn Encoder may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

How one-turn position and revolution count combine
- Within one turn: Thirteen bits divide each shaft revolution into 8192 absolute positions.
- Across turns: Twelve additional bits retain the revolution count through 4096 turns.
- Combined value: The controller receives position within the turn together with the current multiturn count.
- Cycle boundary: PROFINET update time is configured no faster than the documented 1000 µs minimum.
Keep power and network wiring on their assigned connectors
- X1 and X2: Two four-pin M12 female D-coded sockets carry PROFINET transmit and receive pairs.
- X3: The four-pin M12 male A-coded connector supplies 11–27 V DC and 0 V.
- Unused pins: Pins 2 and 4 on X3 remain unconnected.
- Shielding: The network cable shield contacts the mating connector housing over a large surface.
Read each port's connection and traffic indicators
- Green Link on: The corresponding port has a physical network connection.
- Green Link off: No physical connection is present at that port.
- Yellow Data activity: The port is exchanging network data.
- Flashing mode: Green LEDs flash at 2 Hz when commanded by the development tool.
Apply speed and shaft loads to the complete encoder
- Rotational speed: Mechanical operation remains at or below 12,000 rpm.
- Axial load: Force along the shaft is limited to 50 N.
- Radial load: Side force on the shaft is limited to 100 N.
- Mounting form: Selection must preserve the ZB50/D65 flange and 10FL/19.5 shaft configuration.
