Features:
- Fires a 53 mm or 77 mm SCR in the EX2000 de-excitation module.
- Responds to either control input or an SCR break-over voltage condition.
- Synchronizes multiple EXDE boards when parallel SCR paths are installed.
DS200EXDEG1A works with the conduction-sensor board and field-discharge hardware to create a controlled path for stored generator-field energy.
Separate firing circuits and sensor paths preserve independent triggering channels in larger de-excitation assemblies.
One EXDE board is assigned to each SCR; a master-and-follower arrangement coordinates boards when the system uses multiple parallel devices.
The General Electric DS200EXDEG1A De-Excitation Control Board may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Diagnostics & Protection
- Voltage Limiting: The discharge path restrains generator-field voltage as the breaker or contactors open.
- Contactor Energy: Field energy is diverted away from the opening contactors.
- Break-Over Trigger: The SCR can fire when anode-to-cathode voltage exceeds the break-over level.
- Conduction Feedback: Separate sensor circuits detect current through the de-excitation SCR.
Installation & Integration
- Physical Stack: A steel magnetic core and mounted sensor assembly flank the SCR on the sheet-metal base.
- SCR Pairing: Each 53 mm or 77 mm SCR requires its own firing-control board.
- Sensor Cables: JCX and JCY connect the board to the two conduction sensors.
- Role Selection: Hardware jumpers assign master or follower operation.
Monitoring & Control
- Control Input 1: The first logic path can command the SCR firing circuit.
- Control Input 2: A second independent path provides another firing command.
- Power Separation: Each firing channel uses a separate supply and conduction sensor.
- Status Indication: Green indicators monitor P5, N24, and P24, while red indication identifies detected conduction.
Applications
- Normal Shutdown: The module removes stored field energy during an orderly generator stop.
- Emergency Shutdown: The same discharge path acts when an emergency stop is initiated.
- EX2000 Exciter: EX2000 assemblies place EXDE at the center of the field-discharge hardware.
- CV2000 System: The board is also used in the CV2000 Cycloconverter de-excitation module.
