Features:
- High-Density Digital Input Acquisition for Industrial Control Systems
- Combines 16-Channel Capacity with 24 Vdc Signal Compatibility
- Operates in Conjunction with the ICS Triplex Control Architecture
The T9402 operates as the Digital Input Module in a Triplex control system, providing reliable digital signal acquisition from field devices to all processors within the system. It continuously monitors 16 discrete input channels (24 Vdc) and transmits this status data through the rack backplane to support real-time processing and decision-making by all controllers and modules. High signal integrity is standard with the T9402, however using proper shielding and grounding practices will ensure optimal noise immunity in electrically noisy industrial environments. The T9402 has made improvements in several areas over previous input module designs in addition to incorporating enhanced channel density within the Triplex rack.
The T9402 provides essential input functions common to the entire control strategy, and is a critical component of the data acquisition path, directly affecting the accurate, reliable operation of the overall control system. One or multiple T9402 modules are required per rack depending on the desired I/O point count. The T9402 occupies a standard module slot in the rack and can be located in any available I/O slot position.
For High Channel Count applications, the Triplex System requires additional T9402 Digital Input Modules installed in available slots. In addition to standard single module operation, the multi-module configuration also performs seamless integration. The Triplex multi-module configuration executes data exchange using the internal communication bus specified in the system architecture. Using this method, the distributed input system continually monitors the status of all channels. If the system detects that any T9402 module is no longer providing valid input data (outside configured signal/tolerance levels), it will automatically flag the channel status and place an event in the System Event List.
The T9402 ICS Triplex Digital Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
