Features:
- PROFINET Class A device operation
- Multiple simultaneous Modbus TCP/IP client and server connections
- Two Ethernet ports with remote diagnostics
Separate Ethernet subnets are the defining feature of the PLX32-MBTCP-PND. One network serves Modbus TCP/IP equipment and the other connects the gateway as a PROFINET device.
Multiple Modbus clients and servers provide the Ethernet data paths used by the PROFINET controller. The two-port architecture keeps protocol networks separated while allowing configured process data to pass between them.
Before assigning addresses, document both subnet ranges and the PROFINET device name. The controller I/O layout, Modbus register mapping, update requirements, power source, and SD-card recovery plan should then be coordinated.
