Features:
- IC600YB801 receives the full-duplex remote I/O serial link.
- A two-pair cable supports communication up to 10,000 ft.
- Status references report handshake, parity, link, and heartbeat.
The module connects a Series Six remote I/O station to a Remote I/O Driver in a CPU or Local I/O station.
RS-232C modems can extend communications beyond the direct 10,000 ft twisted-pair limit.
Eight input references provide operational status while eight output references remain reserved for future use.
For the General Electric IC600YB801 Remote I/O Receiver Module, Apter Power can supply quotation details and relevant GE manuals or product documentation.

Building the remote serial link
- Medium: Use two twisted pairs for full-duplex communication.
- Direct reach: Cable distance can be up to 10,000 ft.
- Extended reach: RS-232C modems support longer paths.
- Partner: Connect the receiver to the Series Six Remote I/O Driver.
Allocating remote I/O capacity
- Inputs: A remote station supports up to 248 inputs.
- Outputs: A remote station supports up to 248 outputs.
- Status inputs: Reserve eight references for link condition reporting.
- Status outputs: Eight references are reserved for future use.
Reading the remote status byte
- Handshake: Input 1 toggles when Driver and Receiver exchange data.
- Quality: Inputs 4–6 report parity, remote, and link condition.
- Local status: Input 7 reports the local programmable-logic condition.
- Heartbeat: Input 8 changes state once each scan during correct operation.
Preparing a receiver replacement
- Address: Record the rack and eight status-reference assignments.
- Cable: Mark both twisted pairs and any modem connections.
- Termination: Preserve the receiver position and end-of-link setting.
- Validation: Confirm handshake, parity, link, local status, and heartbeat after restart.
