More Information

Overview Manuals Core Distribution Switch Isolation Source Conversion Ground Reference

Features:

  • Routes the Mark V 125 VDC bus from the PD core to control, I/O and protective hardware.
  • Provides individual switches for isolating five control cores and three TCEA processors.
  • Accepts direct DC power or converted AC power while retaining dedicated ignition and solenoid feeds.
DS200TCPDG1A is the central distribution board in the PD core, where panel power is divided into named core and board circuits.

TCPS, TCEA, TCTG, DTBA, DTBC and DTBD paths use separate connectors so a circuit can be traced by its load rather than by a shared output bus.

Incoming AC can be converted by DACA through JZ2, whereas a 125 VDC UPS or battery source connects directly through TB1.

Mark V production has ended at GE; Apter Power may still assist with DS200TCPDG1A sourcing.

Named DC Feeds

  • R Cores: J1R, J1S, J1T and J1C power the TCPS boards in R1, R2, R3 and R5.
  • Control Engine: J1D supplies the TCPS board in the R core.
  • Protective Core: J7W and J7X/Y/Z feed TCTG and the three TCEA processors.
  • Digital Loads: J8 and J12 circuits supply solenoids and wetted contact inputs.

Core Power Selection

  • SW1-SW3: The first three switches control the R1, R2 and R3 cores.
  • SW4-SW5: These switches isolate R5 and the control-engine R core.
  • SW6-SW8: The final three switches power the X, Y and Z TCEA boards.
  • Service Boundary: Each listed core or protective processor can be powered down independently.

Incoming Power Routes

  • TB1: External 115/230 VAC and 125 VDC land at the PD core terminal board.
  • JZ2: Incoming AC reaches the DACA converter through this connector.
  • JZ4: An auxiliary isolated or switched backup AC source can enter here.
  • JZ5: The standard AC source for ignition transformers uses this path.

BJS Jumper Function

  • Jumper Installed: BJS provides the ground reference for an externally referenced system.
  • Jumper Removed: Use the external system's existing ground-reference point instead.
  • Configuration Type: Ground-reference selection is hardware based.
  • Software Boundary: TCPD has no software configuration.
Description
Located in the SPEEDTRONIC Mark V PD core, General Electric DS200TCPDG1A is the TCPD power distribution module. It receives the panel's 125 VDC bus and distributes power to the TCPS boards, the control engine, the P1 protective core and selected digital I/O terminal boards.

General Electric DS200TCPDG1A uses dedicated J1 outputs for the R1, R2, R3, R5 and R control cores. J7W powers TCTG, J7X through J7Z feed the three TCEA boards, J8A through J8D serve solenoid-output terminal boards, and J12A/J12B supply wetted contact inputs.

External 115/230 VAC and 125 VDC reach General Electric DS200TCPDG1A through TB1. When AC is used, JZ2 connects it to the DACA converter for creation of the 125 VDC bus; JZ5 retains a separate AC path for ignition transformers, and JZ4 supports an isolated auxiliary source where required.

Eight switches on General Electric DS200TCPDG1A isolate the five control cores and the X, Y and Z TCEA processors individually. The BJS jumper defines the ground-reference arrangement for systems using an external reference, while the board itself has no software configuration.

Technical notes
General Electric DS200TCPDG1A is the PD-core TCPD module for 125 VDC core distribution, AC conversion paths and individual power isolation.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Why can one Mark V core lose power while General Electric DS200TCPDG1A remains energized?
General Electric DS200TCPDG1A uses separate connectors and switches for each named core; inspect the affected J1 circuit and its matching switch rather than the main input alone.
What should be checked if the TCEA boards do not restart from General Electric DS200TCPDG1A?
Verify SW6 through SW8 and the J7X, J7Y and J7Z outputs on General Electric DS200TCPDG1A, because each TCEA processor has its own feed.
How does General Electric DS200TCPDG1A handle an AC-only panel source?
AC enters General Electric DS200TCPDG1A through TB1 and JZ2, then the DACA module converts it to the 125 VDC distribution bus.
Which route should be traced when ignition power is missing but DC cores are normal on General Electric DS200TCPDG1A?
Inspect the AC source and JZ5 on General Electric DS200TCPDG1A; the ignition-transformer path is separate from the 125 VDC core feeds.
Can General Electric DS200TCPDG1A be configured through software after replacement?
No software setup is assigned to General Electric DS200TCPDG1A; confirm its switch positions, cable destinations and BJS ground-reference setting instead.
What prevents a wrong ground-reference choice on General Electric DS200TCPDG1A?
Match the BJS position on General Electric DS200TCPDG1A to whether the installed 125 VDC system already has an external ground-reference point.
Why should digital I/O core power not be traced only to a direct General Electric DS200TCPDG1A output?
The Q11, Q21 and Q51 cores receive logic power from associated I/O cores, while General Electric DS200TCPDG1A directly feeds specific terminal-board loads such as solenoids.
